What is making that ticking sound ?

Sounds normal to me as well. I don't even really hear what I would define as a tick.

i thought mine had ticking, fresh oil change and no more sound

Sounds very normal

When you first crank it, it sounds like the valve train is dry, but gets lubed very quickly.

The sounds you are hearing when you were moving the camera all around sound very normal to me. Typical valve train and injector noise.

The older engines, like in the mid 60s had solid lifters and so on they sounded like a sewing machine when running.

Ironic that a guy posting about his 55 engine, which is so very different than the M156, actually has a little bit of truth.

I have been having problems with the oil filter element not staying connected to the cap when removing. The result is a messy oil spill because the oil filter element lifting with the cap releases a valve at the bottom of the housing to allow the l to drain. Previous 2 times I had a mess. So next time I made sure it lifted out with the cap. Took a couple tries. Effectively "I messed with it". So somehow the valve did not seat closed properly for whatever reason. This allowed the oil to drain and the hydrolic cam adjusters took 2-4 seconds to pressurize and operate properly.

Oil analysis showed no change in engine wear. The next oil change I did not "mess with it". Noise gone immediately.

I recommend an oil analysis. Blackstone labs. You can search and find my results.

Can somebody please make similar video of E63 engine starting and post it here. FYI. My engine has 98k and oil was changed 350 miles ago. Thank u in advance !
