Buckhead Imports (B.I.) Performance Overdue REVIEW
Craig started helping me out since he was close with the guys at the shop and helped out on the forum for them. We got the tires I wanted figured out and they were able to get ahold of the front and rear wheels right away. A few days later the tires showed up and were mounted and balanced and shipped to me in Florida.
There was a little mishap during shipping since the wheel faces were facing each other (with cardboard between them) but they shuffled around and somehow the faces of the spokes got some scratches on them.
I sent some pics to BI explaining what had been found and we went through some options. I wanted to try avoiding shipping them back and then waiting on another set to replace them since now they were indeed hard to come by (backorder) and I also wanted to go to a car show the upcoming weekend with the wheels. We agreed to have a detailer come by and see if they could buff the faces back (BI would pay for this) but the detailer thought he may not get them how they were originally and didn't want to mess with them.
I contacted Craig and then Tony (who helped me through most of the process) and moved forward. They agreed to just let me keep the wheels on the car (I was actually leaving for 3 months shortly after for work) and run them to the show and eventually back home after a few other little trips before leaving for work. When I returned for a short visit we had though I could stop by Vossen in South Florida since I would be traveling that way anyway and get a new set swapped out that BI would pay for. There was a little confusion between myself, BI and a Vossen forums rep (who didn't actually work at the office in Miami) so when I called Vossen they weren't really aware what was going on.
At this point I spoke with Jason from BI who assured me to not worry and he would take care of me when I got back up to Jacksonville (traveling back up from South Florida). I was going to be leaving for work again soon so it was tough getting this taken care of with my limited time at home and then also with Vossen's limited availability of the wheels. BI was only able to get 2wheels (fronts) after a little wait so they shipped the fronts out to me right before I returned home in March. I had the tires swapped over and then sent out the old wheels (which also ended up having a little curb rash on the rear side of the wheel somehow, maybe from pulling off the road or something).
I told them about this and offered to pay a little $ since I technically damaged them more but they told me not to worry about it. At this point I just held on to the receipts for swapping the tires and shipping and told them they could reimburse me when we get all 4 done. I then left for work a couple weeks later for yet again 3 months and kept in contact with Tony.
Tony informed me they could have the rear wheels now for my return so I let him know when I was going to be home and they had them waiting at the house for me. I again went and got the tires swapped out for the rear wheels now and shipped the original wheels back.
I scanned a copy of the receipts for shipping and mounting of tires and they promptly repaid me through paypal at that time.
It was a long drawn out process from the availability delays and me never being home but in the end I was all taken care of and rolling on some clean new wheels after I had used the other set for every trip I came home (for about 3-4 weeks at a time).
I would like to thank Craig for getting me started, Jason for the reassurance and for Tony for the help since I dealt with him the most through this whole process. They wanted me to be happy and certainly took care of me.
It is often times tough to come by a business who cares about the customers, especially after they already have your money. It is nice to know that their are some good guys out there and that we have them in this community to offer good tunes for these cars, other performance/service work as well as the customer service to complete a process until fruition.
Thanks again Buckhead Imports Peformance and the guys who were involved in the process (Craig, Tony and Jason).
stop by clayton ga in sept for the half mile and say hi to them!
If anyone is interested in the returned 20" vossen cv7 rims David returned, let us know. We will be offering them at a discount as well as a custom colored finish of your choice.
Glad to see they're maintaining that reputation.
