I will be running 180mm pulley, kleemann headers, OE Tune, Fabtech split Cooling (maybe just a BMW pwr steering reservoir to save the dough) heat exchanger all in the next two weeks or so and future to be throttle body etc...
Many of you may or may not know I own a 208 clk55 that's almost complete with an HPS gen 1 blower and MBH Headers from Andrew at Attwood European (I'd have him tune the clk but he can't do it remotely and he's halfway across the USA) pushed to its xxxxing limit lol also soon to be completed with OE Tune. The car is in paint now clk63 front end
any how I somehow have obtained two water methanol kits for it during the build and am debating on an install on my e55 rather than killer chiller as everyone knows the cooler IAT the more safe reliable power.
My question or point: Who is running methanol injection or deeply looked into it please chime in pros cons thoughts...did it eat your blower rotors are you before or after the blower dual or single nozzle size etc

I run it in another vehicle and it does wonders. I've put about 25 gallons of it through the blower with no adverse effects

I gained 22rwhp in my 208 adding it and IAT dropped 22 degrees avg dual nozzle before and after blower should get even more with OE Tune won't name anyone but the "box" tune I got custom made sucks donkey dickOriginally Posted by schino

Works Great. Ideally You Wouldn't Want To Use Something You Have To Keep Refilling Though

I've been running it for a few weeks now. Loving it so far. 2.25 gal tank, single 12gph nozzle after blower. When it hits, IATs instantly drop to 80 or less.
I bought a 2.25 gal gas can. I pour in a gallon of distilled water, then fill the empty water jug up with meth from the 5 gallon can and then pour that in the gas can. I fill the tank, then mix another batch in the gas can to have it on hot standby. I get a perfect 50/50 mix this way. A full tank will last a few weeks under somewhat normal driving.
I have my tank and pump in the spare tire well next to the battery. I have an '06 and my battery is off to the right to make room for the spare. I measured the dimensions of the remaining space and bought the largest plastic container that would fit. I keep my air pump, jumper cables, and socket set in there and there is just enough room left outside of this box for my small toolbox and some other things like microfiber cloths and quick detail spray. The crappy trunk floor cover thing fits without touching anything to keep the trunk available for chopped-up prostitutes and illegals.

ive got a three nozzle set up on my supercharge m5 and it does wonders on my non intercooled set up.. I am seriously considering running the same set up in my e55 as my system is fully tunable on the fly.

Interesting... Im thinking about doing dual nozzles before and after the blower. The stock ecu should react nicely and not pull any timing it would have with hotter IAT? What do you guys think?

Also, if you are running the Zeitronix/DashDAQ setup, you can program the ZT-2 to trigger the meth. For instance, mine kicks on when both 70% throttle and 7 psi are reached.
How much drop in IATs did you guys see? Also, what are you other cooling mods?
I am currently running about ~20 over ambient with only a EC HE, Bosch 010, and
-10C STAR in 90+ weather in high humidity with a few two gears burst here and there (car is stock other than that). Recovery is amazing, ~three mins before it drops to the 20 over ambient range. The thing should be ridiculous in the winter.
My point is, I'm wondering just how critical a meth setup is unless you a wagon wheels pulley and generating a substantial amount of heat compared to a stock boost setup.
Any input?

Ever consider the Killer Chiller ? No refilling needed, kit with a 2.5 to 5 gal tank is right around $1K. IATs in the 50s-60s on 100 degree day.

It kills cabin temps!
$1000 vs $400
Where do you buy killer chiller for our cars just wondering

And where are you guys buying the KC for a grand?

In theory if your ECU is pulling timing because of high IAT then reducing the IAT (using meth or any other method) should keep it from doing so. If your ECU is pulling timing because of knock you may have a bigger issue although meth adds octane as well which will help prevent knock as well. Originally Posted by Max.H

If you get a snow Stage 3 kit you can set it to come on based on injector pulse width or boost and can change it on the fly from in the car. Originally Posted by Denroll

Running meth will not decrease your cruising IAT's (unless you just recently sprayed meth). Before spraying meth the blower was too hot to touch, after spraying during a pull you could pull over and put your hand on the sc and it would be ice cold! If you don't have high IAT's now meth would decrease the IAT's but is not necessary IMOOriginally Posted by ArmoE55

Regardless of starting IATs, as soon as that meth starts pumping, my IATs drop almost instantly to a maximum of 80 degrees. It's usually in the upper 70's and that's in the summer weather.
Killer Chiller would be nice to have for low initial IATs and faster recovery, but when giving it the boot, the AC shuts off and IATs will still rise. I did a long pull on a 64 degree night. IATs were around 80 degrees. IATs peaked at 180 degrees during that run. That's with a heat exchanger, Meziere pump, and a split system (and 15-16psi of boost). With meth, it stays below 80 degrees as long as I have my foot in it.

^ DAMN is all have to say ... meth is the perfect name, once you have it once, YOU'RE HOOKED!

I am btw a dealer for devils own if anyone's interested pm me for pricing

That's the setup I have. The Devil's Own 2.25 gal tank is the perfect height for our spare tire well.

Sounds like meth is the panacea to the volcano syndrome most E55s suffer from.

My mods are all listed below and in the AL heat and humidity, cruising at 80mph my IATs are around 82* with just the KC running, no extra tank or HE. I have thought about adding a tank and when I can get time and the car back to BIP then one will be installed. I am not sure of the diff it will make at cruising temps, but more fluid and a 5gal tank of 40* water to pull from can't be bad. General driving on the streets my IAT now are around 60*, so 20-25* below ambient. When its cooler out my IATs will go as low as 30*, and then the Torque app lets you know to beware of ice!!!
Now when we added my meth system I went from 468/578 to 506/668. Lost the org dyno but here is the most recent and also showing IAT with my meth setup never more than 90* or so. All with the massive 195 crank pulley.

Also yes, I guess the AC suffers, but to me its not really noticeable. Maybe an extra minute or so to get you comfortable. To me its worth it to have 60* IATs on the streets in 90* weather, meanwhile if another E55 pulled up they would likey be at 100*. So if the theory of 1* = 1hp, looks like I have more power.
It truly is like it being fall all year round for me.
