If I remember correctly?
for the US model SL55, the 80mm TB was not available till 2007.
2006 & older used the smaller 74mm TB.

Well, there you go. Thanks.

The 2008 part is 100 more and may be better sourced elsewhere at that price.

Just saved me some cash by not getting the 2006 part.

I just got off the phone with a shop who can make custom Y-pipes. They would only be about $50, but there's a minimum run of 25. I know I could get 5 or 10 easily, but 25 might be a tough order.

Actually Needswing make one that fit the 90mm, but they don't sell it seperately. May be you can talk to them?

Well, there might be enough interest to get something going. I might start a thread to gauge interest. I'll collect money and hope the supply doesn't get stolen.

I checked the Needswings site. They do say they don't sell the coupler separately. Their stuff is pretty expensive and the rest of the system is a 3" system. I'm making this for a 3.5" system.

Keep in mind, diameter isnt everything. Larger diameter typically reduces flow-speed in engine fluid dynamics. :-)

The head should dictate flow speed (atleast in the important parts of the intake track).

I have had some request for some photos of my 90mm TB & intake setup. I thought since this thread inspired my project I would post them here. Except for the aluminum welding I did the work my self with the excellent directions back on page 1 (Thanks Denroll). The inlet & intake pipes are ceramic coated to help reduce heat. The aluminum Y-pipe failed to fit my E55 so I made a 3.5" silicone Y-pipe that just fits. I think the aluminum Y-pipe would fit on a CL55.

I dropped my inlet (and intercooler) off at a shop yesterday to have some extra material built up around the edge. He will probably get to it on Monday. Then, I found a semi-retired guy with his own machine shop just right down the street from me. He's a car guy and is going to charge me the fellow hot-rodder's rate of $30/hr. I'll see how much the total is going to be. The welder said it would probably be around $90 to add all the extra material.

I'm having 3/4" fittings added to the intercooler at a minimum and they are going to cut it open and see about turning that triple pass nonsense into a single pass core. New silicone hose throughout the whole system and I might see a 1 degree drop in IATs.

I made the y-pipe out of 2 silicone elbows & 2 couplings. If you look close at my photo you can see the seams. When finished the silicone is fused or welded together. I tried but I could not make the seams pull apart. Took about 2 hours & less than $100 to make

Looks great Scot.

It has come together real nicely in the end. That silicone y pipe is actually nicer then the aluminium one. Even when i had it, it was a struggle to make fit with the firewall, that was only the stock TB and Ypipe diameter. I knew you said you were going to modify it, but with that 90mm throttle body the silicone actually came out 10x better! Looks top notch!
You can even spray the windscreen washer fluid cap from factory blue to black or whatever colour you prefer. It pops off just a couple tabs on each side. I did mine and ita holding up fine for about a year

Good stuff right here. I went to the store today with several ideas for a Y-pipe, but they had nothing I could use.

How did you seal the TB to the Y-pipe? The OD is about 3-5/8" on that.

I made the opening slightly bigger than 3 5/8 & used a hose clamp to make it air tight.
