Front camber is too high. Adjustability?

Car's been pulling to the side/tramlining a bit much. It's bone stock. Went in for an alignment today and was surprised to learn there's no adjustment to the front camber as stock? Strange. Toe was a bit off but nothing that couldn't be corrected.

The FR is at -2.1 (beyond spec) while FL is at -1.5 (within spec). If there's no adjustability, something must be bent on the front right suspension... control arm?

Yes it's adjustable via bolt kits. I take it you were at some tire shop? For someone to know your car take it to the dealer. It's not that much more.

I took it to my trusty BMW alignment guy as he's always on point for my requirements. Price is a big difference here in Toronto. Dealer is well north of $200. He charges me less than half that and does a far better job than most scrubs at franchised dealers.

Time to search for this bolt kit!

Ok. That's fair most have a trusted guy. But in this case he doesn't know his stuff. So he charged 100 and didn't do squat but toe and go......

If you saved that went straight to dealer it would have been what , 100 more for proper alignment and peace of mind. Oh well everyone calls the " stealers" but they do a job Indys don't.

He's an alignment guy, not my mechanic... There's a difference.

I don't complain about dealers because of price but the quality of proper work (ie. don't just go by some book, use your head to troubleshoot an issue), I've had them **** up numerous simple jobs - BMW and MB both.

Regardless, that's not the point here. I found the part number and hope that it offers enough adjustment to dial it within spec. Thanks for your help.

edit: Again, this is Canada and our prices are vastly different. My dealer charges $140 as the standard labor rate. You can bet it would be a minimum 1hr charged for installing those simple bolts, and another $250 or so for the alignment. Over $400 after tax for bolts and an alignment which my indy's would do for half that. I don't wipe my *** with $100 bills so I'd rather not throw my money at the dealer for a misplaced sense of security.

Thanks guys! I'll install those and report back. Hopefully it stops the right sided pull, too.

Yacht Master, did you end up installing those since 09, and did it fix the pulling?

If you're lucky, those bolts will give you a half degree of camber correction on both sides. Considering that the factory range is -1.1° to -1.7°, you may turn out alright, but don't expect any huge changes.

Unfortunately, these bolt kits only give you about 16 minutes of adjustment(60 minutes=1 degree). At the dealership they use a Rommess gauge to calculate ride height of the vehicle. This is very important when aligning a vehicle. If the ride height varies from side to side of the vehicle. The camber will also vary due to ride height.

0.6 of a degree will start to cause a slight pull towards the positive side. This in conjunction with 4 degree road crown will certainly give a pull to the right.
