Kleemann Header install pics?
looking to install my Kleemann Headers (finally!)
anyone have pics of a good install? searching for "Kleemann Headers" results in a bunch of signature hits and I can't find any good links from just a 'title' search..

It's ok.... it's in the sticky DIY for headers doesn't have to be Kleemann, putting in headers is headers ....use 17 mm wrench to pull the plugs... try not to break any studs and if some the studs come out with nuts one...you can just reuse. Gunna have to weld....gunna take twice as long as you think. Use new gaskets and nuts that comes with it.

I didn't think that Kleemann's could be DIYed ... thought they were weld in. But like someone said, installing headers is installing headers. Headers on this car are the easiest I have installed on any car. The copper nuts are so easy to remove and replace. 10mm gear wrench is very helpful for install. I replaced all the nuts, studs and gaskets. It's not difficult, just time consuming. Tall jack stands are a help, lift would have been nice. have fun!

Couple of weekends ago it took us 1.5 hrs to install these . Yes we had a lift and and 2 people were working on the car at any given time

Damn! I'm super slow then ... Took me 6 hours on my own with Jackstands ... Took my time so no busted knuckles I also hung new exhaust. Might as well do exhaust while you're there

Emissions is a joke in California. They failed my Sequoia with Fed spec catalytic converter because it did not have Cali spec converter - visual only. Replaced it with Cali spec converter and the results were worse than with my old Fed spec converter.

but I'm not big on the smell of raw gas anyways - at least not for a daily driver
today I took our Miata over to get smogged, and it was the 'new' system - took about 10 minutes, ECU passed, quick visual - and DONE!

which exhaust gaskets are best to use? seeing a couple kinds..
1 set seems to be individual gaskets per cylinder (8 needed)
and the other style looks to be a left/right side (2 long pieces)
what's everyone prefer?

If you got it from Kleeman they come with in the packaging. gaskets, new brass nuts, referring to your two pictures the upper picture......thats you need if you were going to buy them individually, but they should come right in the packaging from Kleemann

This place is a joke.
10mm gear wrench is your friend for this job. You'll also have to disconnect the steering shaft at the rack (just the one end-13mm). The gaskets and nuts included with the headers are O.E.M... As O.C.D. as I can be, I ordered the factory nuts and gaskets, and couldn't believe they were exactly the same as the ones from Kleemann. Youll have to cut the pipes right behind the primary cats and take the car to a muffler shop. I can't tell you where to cut them because I cut mine too short...ughh..I would say cut them at the weld on the cat...the muffler shop can always shorten them.

Oh yeah .. if you have to disconnect steering rack set it back (towards the driver) before disconnecting. It took me a while to figure it out. Mine was forward and it causes the slider to not clear.

You also need at least 2 6mm nuts. Some of the studs will unscrew from the heads with the 6mm nuts still attached. You need to double nut these studs then remove the 10mm nut. Then screw them back into the head and tighten. Then remove the 2 6mm nuts. Dpuble
