Disappointed with 1/4 mile. Please advise

Hey guys, I took the car to the 1/4 mile for the first time last night. I was hoping to run in the mid 12s but to my disappointment, my fastest time was 13.03. Best time as follows:

2.19 60 ft
5.64 330 ft
8.50 1/8 mile
13.03 1/4 mile

It was my first time so obviously no expert so I'd like to know whether it's just b/c I'm not driving correctly or it's the car. I was at Sacramento Speedway and temp was around high 70s. There was a wind however not sure of speed or which direction. I tried both in manual and sport mode. The fastest time was in manual. I never lit up the tires b/c this is my daily driver. Please advise and maybe answer some of the following questions:

1) did you burn out
2) left foot on break and build up revs with right
3) etc.

Please don't turn this thread into bashing or telling me I should have bought a E55 or go to the search funciton. This is just an honest question.

What was your trap speed and density altitude? That'll tell us a lot

Sorry I didn't include trap speed. Trap was 109.9. In regards to the temp, I'll base it on the projected today since it was similar yesterday. 71 degrees, humidity 59%, elevation 72.2 ft, barometer 29.7 hg, and air density 95.74%

is it possible to launch these things with out wheel spin? I went out last night and did some 0-100 in both comfort and sport. Pulled way harder in sport but ESP light was blinking till like 45mph

Is your car stock? You are close to sea level so that's good/ Did you let the car cool down?

Nope First gear is a waste, wheel spin, second gear wheel spin, third gear wheel spin,
Michelin PSS, 36psi, does that help!

Are you the OP?

If you're just spinning tires you need to modulate the throttle. Can't just keep your foot to the floor while it spins. Or just get drag radials

110 mph in those conditions tells me the car is down on power. But your 60ft should be better anyway.

You are close to the 12s and high 70`s and other summer time factors hurt ET a lot. If your engine was hot , than your intake temp might be to hot as well and pulling timing on you. you need a good cool down, lower the rear tire pressure to about 28 psi range for street tires. PSI can very some from brand to brand but this will get you close to having a good contact patch, than say 34-36 psi for daily driving.

You need to warm up the tires and don`t worry about burning rubber off, as you are just doing a burn out on other peoples rubber and not the same as burning the tires on rough concrete. You will loose some rubber but not as bad as it looks

You don't need to do a burnout on street tires. If anything just a quick spin to get any rocks/debris off.

just kleeman headers and resonator delete. The car sat for about 15 minutes between each run. engine temp never exceeded 107

That's similar to what my times were at 70 degrees, 90% humidity, DA 1400 DA
The real problem is that 60' which was the same problem I ran into... Like shardul said if you get the 60' down you'll be mid 12's which is right where a stock E55 should be, at least as far as I'm concerned..
2.2 60' hurts..
I did a 2.13 60'
12.9@113 bone stock

Can you verify your IC pump is working? What are your IAT's?

I would have guessed with your mods and the condtions that you should trap close to 116.

That is not similar at all.

You had more humidity, higher DA and you are bone stock to his headers! All that against you but you still ran 3 mph higher than him.

One problem... It's an E63 not a E55.

Forget about ET right now. Your car is only trapping 110? Should be closer to 113-115, stock no?

I just looked at the weather from last night.at 7:00pm the da was 776 and at 8:00pm it was 517.sac raceway has poor track prep on Wednesday nights so that doesn't help with 60' times.and the track runs west-east so the wind is usually a tail wind or coming from the south across the track.your biggest issue is the trap speed, something is not right there.if you can figure out the trap speed issue,go out on a t-n-t and you'll easily be mid 12s.

For me, first time drag race : 1/4 at 169km/h in 13.2 sec 2.X 60ft.. And temp was 93F, the IAT right before the race was 149. Is that normal for stock e55+010 IC pump?

Sorry for hijack the thread.

Your 60' is pretty slow... Tires make a world of difference. I live in Colorado (5800ft track, 7-8,000 density altitude) and had 60' like that in my G8 GXP which was about 400whp with an intake and tune, but no drag radials. DRs took my 60' down into the 2.0-1.9 range.

Put some more power into that 63. Last weekend ran (in my 55) the run on the left:

DA was about 7600 ft. on that run. Yes my RT sucks - I need to get out to some Test & Tunes. And as what seems to be the trend, the sun goes down and I pick up almost 2/10ths. I guess if you have to lose, at least going faster is the way to do it. :P
