Good luck with that...most dealers barely let you test drive an SRT!

The Dodge's (and I am a big Dodge Fan, check out my vehicles) have the power but will they have the comfort, reliability, etc. and they certainly don't have the status.

As far as comfort, my 07 srt-8 charger was one of the most comfortable cars I've ever owned. I was seriously in love with the seats. If it wasn't for the 12mpg I would of had it for A LOT longer than I did. Reliability and status are definitely at question though.

I'll take that bet in my car, heh.

But in any case, the Hellcat appears to be the sedan to beat right now. Though I think when it comes down to mod potential, we have the upperhand as our transmissions are stronger than the Hellcat from the factory. That and we already have 10-second E55s recorded. Just depends on how far you want to go.

Mine's been pretty good to me. 82k miles on the clock and the only things other than standard wear parts to crap out on me were my IC pump ($90, did it myself in 30 minutes) and my voltage regulator ($35, did it myself in 15 minutes).

The worst part is tires and gas!

Not to get off topic, but mine has been pretty reliable for a 10 year old car also. IC pump, front strut, idler bearing.

I've been around these forums for a decade + now & I've seen umpteen threads on E55 w211's plagued w/Airmatic failures left & right, leaking gas tanks, crappy oem Navigation, rattling pano roof, dash rattles, the infamous IC pump failures, crushed engine & tranny mounts/flex-discs. And here's a nice small list of Recalls & more defects than ANYONE should ever expect on a vehicle that stickers for close to $100k when new Maybe you 3 guys got the white unicorn models w/only a couple tiny repair problems

My previous w220 S class had everything from A/C blower motor failure, Nav failure, phn not linking up, Airmatic failure 2 times, ignition position sensor, auto close door & trunk features, multiple trunk battery failures etc etc etc..

My SL r230 m275 engine.. Coil packs 4 x, ABC pump & leaking lines failure 3x, ($7500+ ea time under warranty) crushed engine/tranny mounts twice, Navigation completely failed & replaced entire headunit for $8k under warranty failed TWICE, phn intermittent failure to link up, boost leaks, roll bar rattles, and best yet UNSOLVED on EVERY r230 I've ever seen INCLUDING real SL65 Black Series they ALL have a mysterious battery draw leak, and if you leave parked w/OUT connecting a trickle charger, for 2-3 wks even w/BRAND new accessory battery in trunk it will go completely dead if not driven weekly.

The reason MB replaced my oem Navigation was, they summized the battery draw was due to defect in Navigation unit. Ahh wrong still happens to this day even w/my Nav having completely died yet again (convieniantly out of warranty now lol) I could go on... These cars are indeed beautiful and have stout engines/tranns but are absolutely riddled w/any every other mechanical/electrical etc etc problem you can imagine

Edit: I've owned multiple Ford/Chevy trucks thru the years, they literally ONLY needed gas/oil/tires and driven hard put up wet etc etc..

Since they are so bad as you have proven, any man with any common sense no longer owns/drives a Benz. What do you drive then?

Guess I have 2 unicorns as well then. Daily is an 04 e55 that's been dead reliable minus wear and tear items for 2 years and 20,000 miles. Weekend car is a p030 cls55 bought last September and put 10,000 miles since. I actually regret buying warrantys for both of them as I never have to use it.

I wrote this in the last few lines of post above..

I will buy another MB after I sell my SL, even though probs ahoy' they still have the best looks/power inmop vs other lux cars in same price range.. I've paid outta pocket too many times and more than earned the right to b_it_ch about it & the next MB will be sold before fact Warranty expires period..

Curious you kats w/minimal problems, have you owned your cars since brand NEW? Or relatively new? Or did you pick them up used w/decent mileage on OD? If latter you've lucked out as previous owner/owners have literally rebuilt most the car w/latest parts that have been reengineered multiple times over the years to be more reliable, but trust me {boostiality} you're on a ticking time bomb w/BOTH your rigs, Airmatic is still inherently flawed and costs an arm/leg when bad enjoy your unicorn petting zoo

Owning an ABC equipped V12 bi-turbo is like being married to a supermodel with a crack and herion addiction: beautiful but very high maintenance costs and likely to leave you stranded at the most inopportune time.

Ah that maybe why then.

I bought the e55 with 89,000 miles and now it has 116,000. The cls had 46,000 and now has 56,000.

Their both under exclusionary policies so it doesn't matter if they break, my regret is that they haven't broken yet to justify the cost of the warranty

Hearing about the SL's and the V12 cars though

none
wow challenger hellcat is topping $80k on ebay. so much for starting at $60k
One was even listed at $84k. A little pricey for a dodge

More than likely will retain its value in the coming years tho due to limited production.
