Just purchased a 04 E55 with aftermarket headers, I just got a CEL
Hey guys Im new to the AMG scene and need a little guidance.
Bought the car two weeks ago drove about 300 miles eveything felt great besides breaks....I brought it to a MB dealer they did a inspection and breaks and said everything is fine. Now after about 100 miles check engine light comes on. Ive used the search button but cant really find any solutions. I know the CEL comes on because of my aftermarket headers (i do not know which brand they are) im located on Long Island Eastern Suffolk if anyone knows any good reputable places to get this fixed please point me in the right direction. Thanks

First thing I'd do is go to auto parts store and get the read the code go from there, if it's for the 02s I'd prob look into the tune (I hope previous owner tuned it for aftermarket headers) if not contact eurocharged

They certainty can, but it will not be cheap!! If you have warranty, no worries. Otherwise you can just rid rid of the damn thing and have it turned off in star if you know a good indy with developer mode star. There is really no need for it other than emissions and if its turned off correctly you can still pass emissions

And stop taking high mileage used cars to the stealership. Unless your car is under warranty there is absolutely no reason to be taking your car there. Find a reputable local shop and also, you should get inspections done BEFORE you purchase your car, not after.
