Dual USB charger retrofit
For those of you with older cars (like mine) that don't have convenient USB chargers for cellphones and other stuff, this adds a couple for around $20. I'm aware of the USB adapters that plug into the cig lighter socket, but I like to keep that free for my radar detector. I'll we hard-wiring the radar detector soon, but I like the USB charger nonetheless.
Anway, the install was very simple. You cut a hole and wire it up. Here's some photos of the charger, tools, progress, etc.
Attach at ground wire and fused power wire:
Hole saw to cut into the carpet. I had to keep telling myself, "it's just a car". I plan to leave the charger installed when I sell the car, so I doubt I've ruined the resale value.
Pull the carpet away to find a void and spot with no backing.
Cut the hole
Mount the charger and wire it to the Cig lighter wiring.
Tuck the carpet back into place and enjoy having a a couple USB charging ports.

I had one of those for a long time. They are really fun once you start modded. My kids used to love the mid 3 second 0-60's.
