Anyone on here stack a 185mm CP and clutched 84mm S/C??

Hello everyone this is my first time posting here I finally got to finishing my E55 it's been a slow process but finally all done I used to just run a eurocharged s/c pulley and recently switched to the 185mm crank pulley and honestly I love it the gains I got were a incredible difference and me and my mechanic were talking how we could squeeze more power out of her so he asked me why not run the 84mm s/c pulley on top of the crank pulley hmm yea seemed like a good idea an easy power so we tried researching if anyone ran the setup and honestly found absolutely nothing! So what am asking is anyone running this setup what are the ups/downs etc?

Here is my mod list
185mm crank pulley
Ported supercharger
BBK 90mm T/B
Devils own methanol stage 1
BIP Looped fuel rail
AEM 320lph fuel pumps
PTE 170f Tstat
Needswings cold air intake
Eurocharged belt wrap kit
Kleeman headers 3 inch X-pipe no cats or resonator custom 3 inch Catback with eurocharged mufflers
Eurocharged ECU/TCU
Split cooling FTP engine bay tank
550cc injectors
Eurocharged H/E
Johnson c30 pump
Ngk Colder step plugs

Any suggestion or input is much appreciated!!!

You will make a descent amount more torque. Your total cp sizing will be over 200mm which is high. Heat will be your enemy, BUT it would be hella fun on the street.

I would add a killer chiller to your combo or you could cool the charge with a small 50 wet shot.

Yea that's my concern the heat issue so you think the killer chiller would be the way to keep the temps down? I don't really daily drive the car but what would you say for daily driving? And when I do get out driving her we go play on the street so lot of WOT runs would I run into issues loosing power and such? Id steer away from nitrous had bad experience with it in the past lol would I need to modify any suspension parts?

I have run that combo but with big valve ported heads , 1 7/8 primaries on my headers and heat was not an issue. The ratio comes out to be a 2.2 to 1 ratio or equal to about a 205mm crank pulley. With our 3 valve heads, exhaust valve effeciancy and header/exhaust system really need to be maximized. Until you do that, I would not increase blower ratio that high, or as Craig mentioned heat will be a killer. If you have interchangeable rings on your crank pulley, then a 180mm/smaller SC pulley is a good light , low rotating mass combo.

That combo will put you right at the edge of over boosting at 17.x psi and maxing out the map sensor anything above 17.5 starts giving you problems. It could work but I would not try it with out crank pinning the crank pulley. I just spun a crank pulley and broke a keyway on 175/77mm combo I found out after it is very common when spinning the SC that high to break keyways. So I'd say try it out see if it doesn't max out map sensor and maybe pick up a 180mm crank pulley to try if that's too much boost. Good luck!

So a 180/84 would be a good combo since the rings are interchangeable what would put that for boost maybe 16 and I do plan on going with the long tubes I got a deal on the Kleemans I just couldn't pass up.

What setup did you end up going with? I have trunk tank, soon to have meth kit. Bigger injectors, looped rail and all that. I also plan on doing the killer chiller. I will be running a 185mm with the 84mm upper.

I just stuck with the 185 CP didn't know which way to go so I didn't change a thing maybe down the road I will go with the 180/84 combo or add a little wet shot and be done with it. Good luck

It will vary by your location but I run a 180/84 and have seen peak boost as high as 17.5 but normal is right at 16-16.5 so you would have to test it out to see if it will go limp mode.

You will need at least a trunk tank to try and fight that heat. I run the EC HE, trunk tank, and snow performance meth kit which keeps it under control for the most part bit I still cross over 99° and loose timing.

That's exactly why I bought one. There's nothing lIke destroying some guy in his str8, SS, 5.0, ect and then seeing them just dumbfounded. I'm guessing the gt500 isn't stock? Do you have problems never catching traction?

Lol that is about my only problem getting to stick the power to the ground, TB intake headers xpipe 100shot little other stuff for cooling but yea it's a 14 so pretty much already a monster out the factory thinking next step is going with some welds and getting taller tires to be able to put the power to the ground..

I'm no expert on them but when I was working for Ford the general consenescence was that the rear subframe and suspension setup could not handle the power that they make especially after mods. I'd start there personally. I have thought about going over to a gt500 but I don't think I'd like driving one everyday.
