I finally got the chance to run the car on the 1/8th mile this past weekend after installing the Eurocharged Stage 1 kit a few months ago. Mind you I'm not very experienced at getting off the line, and plan to work on it at some upcoming test and tunes.
My fastest run was an 8.20, but my graceful feet like to stomp the gas at the line, so I know my 60' suffered tremendously.
Nitto 555's. I don't like them in all honesty, but they were on the car when I bought it and have somehow managed to get 22k miles on them without needing to be replaced.
What were your 60' times? I get the best results by leaving traction control ON and letting the computer limit the wheelspin. Mine's a totally stock '04 running on street tires (27 psi at the track) and my 60' times vary between 1.8x - 2.0x. My best 1/8th mile has been 8.0x.
I've got my eye on the stage 1 kit too, so I'm eager to see your best time with that setup!

My 60' times were in the same range as yours, and I left ESP on as well. I'm gonna see how tonight goes though with rolling into the throttle. I plan to leave ESP on, but I may do a couple of runs without as well.
Drag Race: E55 AMG Out-Muscles American Muscle ... Again
Another drag race, and another chance to see a W211 E55 AMG beat a big-bad American straight-line performer at its own game.
At least this time the E-Class AMG's American-muscle-car opponent, a Chrysler 300 SRT-8, had the sense to leave the starting line with a modicum of sophistication, unlike an earlier drag race against a 5.0 Mustang where the pony car left the starting line like a four-year-old who missed his nap.

I got out and ran a few runs last night...a couple were slow, I spun too much, and am still learning how best to keep that from happening. All said and done, my best run was an 8.03 at 89.78mph!
I need to thank Warren for helping me bring down my rt's and then dusting me off with his unbelievably quick CTS-V wagon
I love educating people who don't know Mercedes especially the E55.
"What.... what happened...!?" Haha I've heard similar on lot's of occasions.
Oh and nice kill btw.
When I was stock I had a guy come over to me and say "you sure are hurtin a lot of feelings with your times, what have you done to it" I replied it's all stock except for the drag radials I was running 11.7's & 11.8's all day
It has been more years than I would like to count since I first started running the little SL with the 55k at tracks against nearly exclusive American iron. I shocked and pissed off plenty of Mustangs, Camaro's, vette's and mopar stuff over the years. I am pleased in one respect and surprised on the other hand that people still don't seem to respect German Muscle. I guess they just don't watch Top Gear.
2004 W211 E55 AMG >>gone but not forgotten > W123 280E > W124 E280 > W126 380SE

You're all over that launch bro, nice times. Hammering them home.
Wes,
Good times buddy! Nice job on this run. You dropped 1/2 second off your reaction time and we were a LOT closer at the end. Better reaction time along with a better launch will get you to the finish line sooner. A lot of races can be won by a slower car when you cut a good light and don't spin.
I'm in the left lane on this slip.

I've seen your time slips on dragtime.com, how come you trapping 121 mph stock, and 115 mph being my best and I have smaller s/c and a tune?
