Cool. I wish I'd driven down since my local track closed due to the temp being in the 40's. I'm glad to see everyting went well for you guys and all the paint is still shinny.

had fun and was proud of my girl. drove 130 miles one way to the track, went through tech and first run was a 10 with the every so irritating shifting problem.
each burnout got longer and longer but my 60s were getting worse and worse. just drove back home, super fun.
going to put on a smaller blower pulley and pick up some vht from summit to coat my tires for the next trip out.

I don't know how well the prep the track there but if your having trouble with your slicks this will help. Buy 1 gallon of MEK and 1 gallon of VHT and a bottle of Karo corn syrup. Mix half a gallon of MEK, 1 bottle of Karo syrup and a little less than 1/2 gallon of VHT. Pour a good patch out in front of the tires and do a good burnout. The MEK will soften the tires up and they will stick like glue. I doubt the track would let you do it there but you can "condition" the tires that way. Always worked for me

Everyone has their own but after experimenting a long time ago I found that to work about the best. I tried using VP's traction compounds but they seem to not work as well on the street. That mix will bring old drag tires back to life to but it also cuts the life of the tire down a lot.

i must be missing something. how is a 1.593 not a great 60 ft? overall the run is spot on, 7.1 in the 1/8 at 100 mph and picking up 29 mph on the back half running 3.8 secs for the second 1/8 at 129 mph.
looks like he is .7 slower in the 60 ft and 3 mph slower than your run for non nitrous according to your sig. wasn't that done at mir in late fall with massive neg d/a?

Shout out to Draggbody
perfect weather... mid 50's and not a cloud in the sky... but the track wasnt doing so great towards the end of the day... nanayaw6 went from running low 12's/ high 11's to solid 11.50s by the days end... he had a great pit crew, lol... craig still has traction issues, but to drive to the track on a new build and break into the 10s is impressive... a little more tweaking and that things going to be mean... i had a fun day helping out while my crank is in good hands at BIP getting the crank snout fixed... good to meet jason as well as craigs dad...
All in it was a great day. Eventually managed a few 11.5 runs with my 60's in the high 1.7 range. Granted I've seen people pull off 1.5's with these slicks but with my starting IATs at 100 after burnout I think further cooling (meth) will do it for me. I am pleased with the car also given there was no cool down between runs except for the trip to the gas station to get some fuel. Lots of sweet rides, great people, was a fun day. Great seeing Jason again and Craig's beast. Heck even got to see an E63 S (gorgeous in that white trim) run a few times and got to run against it. This was one of the highlights of my day. Draggbody, can't wait till you get your whip back on the road man and thanks again for yesterday!!!

Craig, your ride is an absolute beast! Lined up directly behind that beast and seeing it spin on launch and still pull high 10's floored me. One thing I noticed during your later runs when I was directly behind you was that your rear wheels seem to have a lot of camber. Wanted to ask if you were launching in raised or normal ride height. Thought I had a video to show you what i mean but of course looks like I didn't hit record. Awesome recovery skills too cos on one of your later runs I was behind you for, that thing spun out a lot and suddenly. I would have probably eaten the wall if I was running that much torque and lost traction when you did in the launch.

Drag Season? I wish. My little 55K has been tucked in for the looong cold winter already. We haven't been above freezing for 3 days and won't be for another 5 or 6. Is my jealousy showing yet?

seriously, i had a blast... i just like helping out, i know how tough it can be to know whats going on outside the car while we are inside driving...

Yeah, that time is spot on for what I ran, but it ran that time because the shifting hesistation is massive. I make 4 shifts through the 1/4, so it is losing speed and time on each upshift.
That 60ft was good, but the car still came sideways out the hole and the hesitation between shifts was immense. I would have done much better if the tcu was acting the way it should.
Stevie, what shifting issues were you having, I am thinking of going back to a stock TCU to see if it changes anything.

I think it's hilarious that people think MIR is -2000 DA all the time. Like you guys don't get negative DA down there... they are closing tracks because it is too cold there!

Ahmad, I am going to chase down a slk32 amg or a c55 amg that has stock 3.06 gearing to and try that. I will leave it stock and see how it does on the dyno.
For whatever reason, the tranny went into limp mode after every run and mine is built lol.
