So an update on mine- Talked to the dealer today, and they said they don't see the issue that often, but the rep was familiar with it, and all he had to do was tell such and such department to add the vin to the VMI as being covered since no car has been entered as being covered yet- just been a case by case basis until now.
Everything was approved, but the dealer said its going to take some time before most are in the VMI system. Until then, they just call their rep and ask them to manually do it.
As an aside, my car won't be ready until Monday because the tech found the plastic lines to be getting brittle, and said they are going to fail at some point, so ordered all new ones to put in- fully covered by this warranty extension as well Keep in mind, my husband has a 2005 E320 with close to 200k and never had any issues with this problem at all, so not sure if the higher pressure pumps have something to do with it- clearly the rep knew the issues are with multiple parts and directed the dealer to replace EVERYTHING.

that document is the actual repair procedure. all 211 will be covered even am there just isn't a repair instruction document for amg yet. if you notice if the vmi says "tank" on 03-07 then it gets a complete tank already assembled with everything on it so maybe they are working on those parts for the amg still.

Fuel leak
Hey i have same issue mine fuel leak underseat i replaced seal still leaking what i should do please help thanks

This is great news. Surprised the the Feds couldn't find evidence of fuel getting into the interior. My CPO E55 had the rear seat replaced due to fuel saturation when I bought it in 2010.

I was at the dealer this past Friday taking the E in for the much dreaded SBC light and they said they'd just received notification from MBUSA regarding the W211 fuel tank issues. Mine has gotten progressively worse lately and has been smelling a lot worse outside the car as well as inside. At least I'm within the extended warranty terms for the tank/fuel system. Will advise what the dealer does...

Better question is who are the ppl that got this fix talking to @MBUSA ???
Because although helpful one of the papers says AMGs not included at this time and that's my problem. Going to drop my car of today and get the estimate to fix and send to MBUSA like I was told by the rep I spoke to.
That is all I know to do to get the ball rolling

No do not pay for anything. If the service advisor says that then call mbusa from the dealership and make them say that the repair is on extended warranty. Do not pay anymore for this repair.
This only applies to situations where there is fuel in the sender/pump or heavy fuel smell.

I see what you're saying but I call Mercedes-Benz of USA myself and the guy sees the documents I have and one of them says AMG it's not included at this time and that's that hurdle I'm trying to overcome. This definitely applies to me my garage reeks of gas when I fill it up full and I've personally seen a crack in the gas tank

The Dealer has had my E55 since last Monday (day#8 today). I have not heard from them at all. When I dropped off the car, my service advisor was somewhat familiar with this, but said that the covered components needed to be checked and confirmed. Since I have not heard from him, I'm going to make a surprise visit and see what's going on. 8 days without a phone call is a little disturbing to me, because I left a few messages for him. A simple, "Hey, were still checking with mbusa" would have been more than OK with me. I do have a C250 to drive, but this thing is dangerous. Turbo lag has almost killed me 3 times. I'm used to immediate response from the gas pedal.

Is it covered if my e55 does not have warranty?
Check out the information below:

Looks like MBZ will now cover all repairs for MY2003 -2009 E Class for up to 15 years (and unlimited mileage) for fuel leaks....
Get those fuel tanks fixed, gents!!!
And for those of you who paid out-of-pocket: Go ask for your refund!!!!

According to the warranty admin at MB Manhattan, dealership owned by MBUSA, the extended warranty only applies to non-AMG models, at least for the time being. Hopefully, they will update soon to include the E55 & E63.

I got a call from my SA from Fletcher Jones of Ontario and they indicated that the leak stems from the top of the fuel pump assy (likely due to the higher pressure system?) and that the current recall did not include AMGs that he was aware of but he is going to follow up further tomorrow. Not surprised that some dealers are fixing the AMGs while others are not. No standardization across the MBUSA dealer network. If anyone is aware of a dealer in SoCal who is addressing the fix please let me know in the event FJ doesn't pull through. Thanks!

Some of you people are doing this wrong.
You don't use words with a ****ing stealer. You use documented proof and written statements.
The letter to nhtsa says all w211 models.

All due respect, but you jumped to conclusions. That very letter is what I presented to the dealership. That may be why they have not declined to do the work yet and are continuing to "follow up." I may have to get more firm with them very soon.
