2005 E-320 W-211 CDI
Question 2005 W-211 CDI (DIESEL) Included?

Not to appear ignorant but . . .

Is my 2005 CDI diesel included in this recall.
(Excuse me, extended warranty )?
Searched and searched all 9 pages, but I can't tell one way or 'nother.
Thanks for any help and regards,

Derrel H Green

Called dealer this morning and he told me that this is for non-amg only.
After that i called MB corporate and lady there told me it is not true, amg is covered.

She called on the other line to my local dealer (who i've talked before) and explained them that.
Just drop off my car this evening at the dealer. Will see tomorrow what will actually happen...

A lot of us are modded here. Do you guys think there is any chance they will reflash the ECU for any updates that might relate?

Something to consider, I don't have a backup of my tune and if I ever needed to take it in, this would worry me.

I don't see where a reflash would be required with this service. There may be an outstanding reflash that is due on your car (abc, ect) so I would just tell them not to reflash.
Most every tuner will reinstall a tune for free if this happens though.

Try to stay calm everyone.......

It took us something like 4 YEARS to finally get NHTSA and MB-USA to acknowledge this fuel leak issue was real. The paperwork is being settled and rolled-out now, but clearly its not instantaneous.

Take a deep breath, fill your tanks to the 3/4 mark for another month (or two) and let MB-USA get their act together on this.... it sounds like they are going to be running a lot of VIN#'s to figure out who to contact, and I'm sure they are going to be using the NHTSA ODI database (which also has our VIN#s) to identify where to send out letters and instructions.

Trying to jam our cars into the repair process now seems to just be causing chaos and confusion at most dealerships. Let these guys get their legs underneath them first and the whole process should go a lot smoother with a LOT less stress for everyone.

Just my humble $.02

That's exactly what I was told by MB Manhattan. Since that is a factory owned dealership, figure they would likely have good info.

This place is a joke.
My E55 VMI (vehicle master inquiry) was automatically updated today as covered for a "tank."

According to the bulletin, if I had an E320/500 I am supposed to get a tank complete with fuel pump and filter pre-assembled...at least that's how I read it..clear as mud eh? However, since the bulletin does not apply to AMG's, the part number for the assembled tank is wrong, as well as the other required hardware. MBUSA parts does not have a part number for the AMG assembled tank as of today, only the empty tank. I would expect an updated bulletin to be issued with the correct part numbers or procedure for AMG's soon.

So...everyone calm down and wait a few more days until MBUSA updates their information.

I will address this after you all figure it out and more importantly get my car back from some upgrades at BIP and then some body work. So I don't plan to address this until late March/April.

I ran into the same issues as you as the dealer told me the exact same thing. They are trying to sort it out so I will keep you posted.

Great to hear! This should be global though, For the guys with E55 in other countries. Everyone encounters the same issue.

Just spoke with my dealer today. They just got my vmi updated and are going to work on it this week. Between this and my Sbc, I'm stoked.

With as many car companies that aren't willing to put you up in a loaner or rental, I'd count my blessings. So far, I've only had that level of service from ford and mb.

The people did not take to the their own countries version of the nhtsa like most of the owners did here and that's why they are not included. Mbusa took responsibility on this. So now it's up to mbcanada and others to follow and do the right thing

Some do but usually happens when the filter is getting dirty or clogged there's more resistance and it heats up and melts the plastic, when that happens fuel swaps through
