Has anyone rebuilt their supercharger?
Mine has always been a little noisy, but now the bearings in the back are really rattling. Being able to freshen it up with new bearings would put me at ease.
So what up?

If it could be done, try www.magnumpowers.com Charles knows everything about superchargers. On my lightning magnum powers blower, I had the inside coated that gave me 10hp to the wheels.

Yes, searching for the bearing types, model Nrs. etc since i have the car.
Also the guys in Germany have no answer so far. Its seems nobody knows. If one has issues with it, it was always recommended to get a brand new unit (big $$$) LOL.

Thanks. Just spoke with the tech at Stiegemeier. He says generally the bearings in the front drive are not replaceable, but there's a few things they can do to the unit. Most of my noise seems to be coming from the rear bearings back by the inlet. With the snout removed, those bearings look like they should be able to be replaced. I sent them a picture of those bearings as I took a pic last time I had it off. It had lots of oil from that PCV system blasting it back in there like Peter North.

Those two look easy enough to replace, the trick is to find bearings of that quality to replace them with.
I would like to replace the front one on mine, but don't know how to deal with the magnet or where to buy really really good bearings.

I have seen posts of the high grade bearing for the clutch pack, and I am pretty sure the internal bearings can be sourced once removed by checking manufacturer's number or dimension.
Just don't let your rotors start slapping or you will have a John Holmes interference condition.

I pulled the belt and spun it by hand. the noise let me know that it was for sure the bearings. The vanes look fine and show no evidence of foreign debris or touching. too bad these bearings can't be changed out easily. They're right there!
Since Jcmjw is such an awesome guy and has the Weistec, he made me a deal on his old s/c I just couldn't refuse... pay shipping and it's mine. Wow! That must be karma coming back for when I gave away a spare 82mm TB.
The delivery guy left the box standing up and a lot of the oil leaked out of that super-important hole in the pulley bolt. Did anyone ever find out the exact oil capacity? While it's off, I can ensure it's fully drained, then fill it with the proper amount.

When refilling make sure it's level, start filling slowly and when it starts to spill out stop, there is no set amount because everyone I have seen do it had diff amounts

I dont know about this 150 - 155ml bizo, seems speculation to me. I know this information comes from an obviously reputable German forum but fact is we extracted 270ml on the second change and replaced with the same amount. The supercharger ran strong both before and after which seems to indicate it wasnt overfull and we used the drainplug as a level. Surely if it was overfull there would be detrimental effects?

... And as for this guy I'd be cautious following these instructions considering the oil either evaporates or gets otherwise consumed so replacing with the same quantity will be insufficient.
