Yes, the scattershields are still available.
The universal version (short post version) is $110

10-12-15 EDIT .... all of the "long post" (NON universal) shields are gone.

there are only universal shields in stock (and production) ... SO, there is no longer a need to determine if you have a long or short post. The current model fits all AMG 55k motors.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris, we've chatted a few times about shields, I have the same issue as the guy above with one of the two mounting points broken off completely.

Did i read that you have a solution for us one pegged guys?

Thanks,

Ben

^ it really is amazing what can happen when these belts explode. I had a serpentine belt blow. Not sure if i am using the right term, but I am talking about the main belt not the SC belt. When the belt blew, I was lucky to get the car shutdown fast as the water temp gauge pegged in like one second and the MFD lit up light a Christmas tree. I thought I had avoided any damage only to find out a couple years later that the belt must have taken out a mounting point on the water pump used for the belt wrap kit. I bought the belt wrap kit thinking it would be a simple install only to realize I needed to replace my water pump. I still consider myself lucky.

Hi Ben,

This is what I made for Pearce ("the new guy") today. As you can see, it is NOT a single-post solution. It will work in the case where the forward facing post is compromised (cracked and repaired) but NOT in the case where it is missing altogether. Perhaps I can create a version that will work for you, but not today .... sorry bud

Chris

Thanks Chris, I'm completely de-pegged on the forward facing one. It cracked and then I broke it off completely. The fragments are not recoverable.

Yeah I'm in the same boat with the pin completely missing! Ironically enough I was one of the first to buy a shield and even started the original list but havent been able to use it. I've spoken to a couple of people about trying reattach the pin but more difficult than I initially thought. I've even tried to find a broken supercharger just for the front section with the pin but lucked out there also.

Chris if you can think of anything that would be fantastic - murphy's law says if I drive without the shield I'll probably regret it - especially with my freshly rebuilt motor! Otherwise I guess I'll have a shield for sale soon...

I reckon it's more of an E55 pulley thing. I really don't want to have to pull the pin on using the scattershield just because the pins missing.... BOOM!

I will see what sort of solution I can come up with on this. Don't give up yet.

Mate you've gone above and beyond with these scatter-shields right from the beginning and are to be commended. If there is anything that can be done I'm sure you'll think of it, though having said that I will certainly understand if it proves too difficult or time consuming.

I just discovered I'm missing a pin as well, the one pointing to the passenger side of the car, (on the right). It looks as if there are threads in the hole for a pin to thread into? Is this available? This is Not the one on the supercharger. Thoughts?

Ritch, try to measure the depth of the hole in the casting and send me a couple of shots of the inside of the casting to my email and we should be able to sort this for you.

Cheers,
Chris

It should be a press fit .... although it may have been cast with the 13mm pin in place (and perhaps the pin had ridges to improve retention ... making the casting look lightly threaded on the inside?)

you should be able to press in a 13mm ( x 32mm or so) dowel. Use some green loctite dowel retaining compound (loctite 640 would do it).

Or, you could buy a 1/2 drill bushing (x 1 3/8") and push it in with some good epoxy. here is a mcmaster carr # for one that should work 8491A344

Cheers,
Chris
