Torque spec on ASP 172 mm pulley.

Does anyone know the torque spec on asp 172 mm pulley? I'm using the ARP bolt. This bolt can handle up to 250 lbs. Any ideas?

With ARP bolts on a new pulley 275 lb foot then turned an additional 90 degrees to stretch it.

Check with a MB tech on torque specs. I have a ASP 185mm installed with a AMG crank bolt and I think my MB Tech used standard torque specs as listed in their manual.

With the oem bolt on any oem pulley the spec is same as with the oem harmonic balancer 148 lb foot but with the ARP they recommend that crazy 275 lb ft setting - and on top of that you can reuse the bolt! I would have thought it would have been secure enough say at 200 lb ft with the keyway slotted but what do I know of these things. Also with the oem bolt instructions are to tighten to specified torque then an extra 90 degrees to stretch the metal (which is why they're a one time use bolt) yet the ARP bolt has much higher torque and still suggests an extra 90 degrees?

We keep about 70-100 ARP crank bolts in stock and the Torque spec is 250 ft lbs and that is with using a torque lube. No spec to 90 deg past the 250 ft lbs.

The stock bolt is a torque to yield and you need to follow the AMG spec only and it does require 90 deg for the final stretch.

Aha that would explain it - like people whispering one by one the same message down a line, it gets totally changed by the time it gets the other end. I havent actually used one of he ARP bolts yet. For anyone that is likely to change their crank pulley more than a couple of times they do make a lot of sense. Anyway thanks for clearing that up.

I think, I will just stick with the new crank pulley, and go with the MB spec. Since I have both. Thanks all.
