My set up is
83mm sc pulley (should I replace with 72?)

180 CP.

Consider the physics, it makes sense. More risk but that's how you run it!

poor install it might fall off and chew up your keyway.

never had a sc pulley but I know 180cp pulls like a beast.

If you decide to go with a 180 cp and want a weistec one let me know within 2 days. I bought one and was going to send back to seller but shipping is a ton.

Not sure what you mean by physics?
Not being argumentative, just curious.

The cp adds weight and wait (as in for boost as the engines winds up the heavy crank pulley). When it hits though.

Given the issues some (not me, I'm on year 6 w RT 178 cp have had with install and the ease of the sc pulley swap, if I did it now I probably would add a sc pulley instead.

I'm a believer that the sc pulley will build up heat faster due to the sc spinning faster all the time where with a crankshaft pulley you can learn how to drive around town without engaging the supercharger which will reduce supercharger heat.

I know of an 84mm and 77mm, but is the "72mm" SC pulley a misprint? Doesn't seem like it would be possible to fit a bearing in there.

Well the 72 will produce higher boost and heat. A 77 is equal to a 180. A 72 will be in the ballpark of a 190mm crank pulley. Personally I would go with a 77mm clutched. Fixed pulley can cause headaches for some people.

Just buy the pin kit from Buckhead if your doing a crank pulley. Its money well spent.

Why would you return it to the seller? Anything wrong with it?

How much do you want for it?

Wait, how does a crank pulley not generate as much heat or spin the SC as fast? Isn't the point of either to spin the kompressor faster to get more boost?

Any time the blower spins faster regardless of what pulley is where...it will produce more heat.I think every one gets a little crazy with the heat issue. On my Mustang I run 25lbs of boost with just an air to air intercooler. The Shelby we just finished made around 18lbs ,900hp, with the same type of set up,air to water intercooler we have for our cars and the Shelby has always been a fixed pulley just like everyone else with a supercharger.

180mm

I've had mine now for roughly 3 years without an issue...I forgot which one. I know it has the actually pulley part bolted to the part that is bolted to the crank that way the size can be changed easier...I just can't remember who makes them or even if they're still being made...I haven't been around for awhile...

Here's a pull in 50-55F ambient with 14psi...

Granted had I stuck ice in the tank before going to the staging lanes I might have had near ambient temps at the line, considering the lanes were packed that day.
