DIY: Add Facelift mirrors and assemble/dissassemble facelift mirrors

1.Remove stock door mirror. There are already DIYs for this so I won’t go into any detail on this.
2.Here is what the door looks like with mirror removed:

3.The facelift mirror has a foam boot on it. Remove the boot and use it as a template to drill the holes
Here is the boot on the end of the mirror

Here is the boot removed and used as a templat
4.Mark the holes with a black marker pen

Here are the marked holes:

5.Drill the holes out. Here is a picture of the holes drilled out

6.Put the foam back on the mounting side of the mirror and mount the mirror. You may need to drill the holes out more if the alignment is a little out.
Here is what the inside of the door looks like after mounting.

7. Add the some bolts and washers. M5 20mm bolts will work. The stock ones from the old mirror will not work.
Here are the bolts mounted:

8.Next need to mount the door mirror switch. I held it upside down it seems. You need to remove the door panel for this and also better access to drill the holes and mount the mirror. I did not DIY the door panel removal process as there are quite a few out there already I believe.

9.I actually forgot to take a picture of the mirror mounted on the car. I will take one when I get back.
I also dismantled the mirrors completely because I was planning on painting them to match the car but I changed my mind and decided to leave them in black so here is a tutorial of how to assemble/disassemble the facelift door mirrors. I may still decide to paint them … we’ll see.
1.Here is the mirror completely disassembled:

2.Insert the turn signal:

3.Add one screw (red arrow) and insert the mirror arm at an angle into the housing. It’s a little tight unless you get the angle just right. The housing then just clicks into place.

4.Add two more screws. as shown:

5.Add mirror mount and install 3 screws:

6.Install the frame and screw in the last 4 screws:

7.Lastly, install the mirror glass. There may be some wires for heat and auto-dimming and then you’re done!

For Auto-fold, coding is in 3 places: CGW, IC and driver's door module. I have those screenshots on my other computer

I haven't been able to find any good info on that matter on google.
Thanks

1. I am out on business and had stated I actually forgot to take pics of it on the car. I thought I had but I did not. It looks like an 07-09 E63. My mirrors are black the car is white.
2. You need a DAS to code the car. My very last statement in the writeup states this.
3. I believe you need to be careful with what mirrors you purchase. I think but not 100% sure that the US mirrors are not auto folding so I did not look within the US. I got mine from Lithuania. Here are the part numbers:
2118101576 LEFT mirror
2118101676 RIGHT mirror
I did not really care about the auto-dim and heated part of the mirrors. Mine came with heated and auto-dimming. But you can add those to the harness fairly easily. I am not sure about the DIP functionality as to whether that is mirror model related.

Do they come with flood lights? Not sure what they are called the leds that point down toward your feet.
Maybe the euro version has them?
