A cobra idler pulley will fit with some grinding at the back of the pulley, it took me about 10 minutes to fit by removing some material, even the center bolt and cap is bolt-on !!!
I have been thinking about ordering all new pulleys and having them powdercoated. Call me crazy, but I haven't spent any time in the engine bay. I may snag that as it looks nice!
I have been working with this company for years as they supply the pulleys for the M112K Belt Wrap Kit that I created and sell. Great stuff (and most everything is available in a double-bearing version).

So what part of the pulley did you have to shave metal off?
The outer ring or where the bearing butts up to the assembly, and how much needed to be removed?
Sounds like we need to get the manufacturer to this thread as they can easily modify these properly to work with our setup and they'd sell probably as many or more than they do to the 03/04 Cobra crowd.
I was going to say the same thing ... if they shaved off the material, it would allow for a lighter pulley overall as well as being useable on E55 and Cobras. Not to sound negative to OP, but I don't like to remove material on rotating masses personally unless it is chucked up and lathed properly. I am just **** that way ... but that is a great find.

Do you happen to know the specs of the bolts on your belt wrap kit?
Mine have allen heads and it sucks for belt changes.

Those pictured are 8.8 (more than adequate considering their size and double shear mounting arrangement) . I actually like allen drive bolts better (for the look). With a properly created set-up, belt changes should be so infrequent as make head type a non-issue.

Sorry Chris, I should have been more clear. I'm looking for the thread, pitch and length of the bolts if you happen to know it. It would save me from pulling them out again to measure.
Someone should def get in touch with the manufacturer. Looks like it won't take them much more to knock down those areas to make it work for us and have no impact on the cobra guys. And that way everything is balanced and not 'handmade' with a dremel (not a knock on you, OP. Good find!!)

The kit was for a M112k (AMG 3.2 V6) so the bolt sizes wont be the same as your E55 uses.

Options are good, is all I'm saying.
I have worked directly with this manufacturer, Metco (over the last 3 years). Their product and commitment to quality is beyond compare.
I have had them make 4 different custom pulleys for Kits I have designed and sold ... but they have gotten so busy with their cobra stuff that they stopped scheduling custom builds.
You can try contacting Rick Bejarano (co-owner, head of sales at Metco), but you would probably have better luck getting ASP https://www.autospecialties.com/ to make a double bearing version of their 90mm idler (that they already make for this Mercedes application).
