Has anyone ever bought an AMG from carmax? If so, can you explain the outcome.
1) Did you take it within 5 days to get it inspected. If so, when you returned to carmax, did they take care of it?
2) Have you bought the maxcare extended warranty and has it covered the claims?
3) Were there undisclosed issues within 30 days of owning the car?
4) Is it worth it or not?

1. Yes, I told them the brakes vibrated under heavy braking even though the brakes are not covered under warranty and they still covered it.
2. All claims have been addressed, just remove mods or have a mod friendly shop
3. No
4. 12k in claims in 2 years and they have covered everything without much of a hiccup including loaner cars. It definitely helps in the re-sell value of the car

1) You can take it to any shop I'm assuming. Do they send someone over the shop to inspect it? Do they take a while to approve claims?
2) How much was the warranty. Years/Miles/Deductible. What car did you buy?

I think CarMax is very good.
1) Within 3 days of owning the car, an exhaust sensor or something went bad. They fixed it immediately, no issues and no cost to me. This was right after a stealership inspection.
2) CarMax warranty works. Somehow...and no one can seem to figure this out, my back right camber rod bent from a snapped bolt. 4500 repair job since they had to take down the entire sub-frame. CarMax warranty paid without a fight or issue.
3) no issues
4) yes. Go for it..get the warranty. Mine has already paid for itself and more.

From what I've been told if you get a bumper to bumper warranty from carmax your golden. If I ever find an AMG I want that carmax has I would def opt for it.

def get it.
I have a friend that picked up an M5 from there and they've already replaced the entire motor and tranny (on top of other things).
Hard to say it wouldn't be worth it give the $$ of parts / install.

have a friend who owns a shop. Says Carmax warranties and USAA are two of the best out there from a coverage aspect. Zero issues with them quickly honoring even major claims

A+ then another plus for Carmax warranty. No hassle, same minute authorization for work.

I was under the impression that CarMax caught on and no longer offers warranties on AMG's.
Can anyone confirm a recent warranty purchase?
