Clear Corner Lens: Why not so many?

I am thinking of replacing my W210's corner lens to clear ones.... but notice that not a lot of people here do that..... this makes me wonder whether it's gonna improve or hurt the look...

Anyone has clear corner lense? Please post some pics if you have one....

Also, at eBay some people sell for $30+ plus shipping.... anywhere cheaper? And, it seems there are two kinds of clear corner lens: diamond and regular (just like stock but clear). Which one gives better look?

Any suggestions?

I have pre-painted lenses and they look very good with the car. Mines silver. Not sure about clear ones. t-bone has the clear ones on his E430.

Honestly, the lenses (stock, clear, altezza, or painted) simply do not look good at all, especially on a 210. Get the european bumper strips from MBenzNL that removes the lenses completely.

The painted and the clear ones look nice but I like the contrast of the yellow ones for some reason.

Mine is neither. It looks exactly like the one at www.evosport.com site. Pre painted silver.

To each his own.

Go to eBay and search for seller f1sports. You should be able to find it..... but not sure whether he's selling one right now or not... the one I found ended recently and he usually sells another set in the near future.

I bought the F1sports clear lenses. I'm not allowed to post a pic, but they look pretty much like the ones above. Made in Taiwan and not *quite* the quality of OEM. Didn't fit as well as OEM. But the clear looks better IMO. There's a release tab hole in the wheel well - it helps to turn the steering wheel hard over to install.

Of course there is that 'warning' on the box that they aren't DOT approved

And that's $35 vs. the bumper strips (?$400?).

city lights

tjc, i am uncertain which bulbs are used in those pics, from last year.
i am using stock bulb right now. i did have in philips h6w, frankly not much diff there , still a yellow-y tint , like bone stock.

however, now, with the stock bulbs, i have put on this 'lamin-x' lens protection in 'optical blue'. i have another thread out there on this. it is a plastic sheet like x-pel that can be cut to size. i found that it does turn the city lights to a whiter tint, a better match with xenons. i was pleasantly surprised. the stuff is cheap and easy to install. if if can do it , ANYONE can.. just google for the website.

when lights are off, they appear to have a modest blue tint. i think it matches well with black (or silver) .

i'll try to post fresh pics, now that winter's over up here.

thanks , john.

tjc , your car

tjc, got shots of your ride? i like that color combo, desert/charcoal, sounds rare. was that avail e55 only? did you buy new?
i'm actually considering swapping out of my own for a brilliant silver e430 4m, after 2 winters of crud. but if i found another 210 model in your combo, i'd consider.
thanks , john.
