Super stoked! Counting down the days... The good news is that I'm traveling for business for a few days to take my mind off it

Confirmed it was put on the hauler last night in NY and bound for SoCal. This will complete 3 corners of the country for the 55 Wagon (bought in FL and spent time in the Hamptons, NY). Maybe someday it will make the 4th corner in the NW but for now, it's going to see a lot of SW roads!

Black on Black (not my first choice). However, with 64K miles and showroom fresh, I can't be too choosy...

Great forum and I'm looking forward to the advice and community here. Patience won out and hopefully it's as amazing as the photos and PPI said it will be

Congratulations, I know just how you feel. I had a PPI on Tuesday, I just paid for mine tonight, should be able to pick it up in the weekend.

We've had our E55 wagon since 2007 (second owner).Wouldn't give it up for anything. As close to the perfect car as you can get.

Thank you for the words. Extensive records and receipts, all done at MB dealers. Was part of a large car collection so anything that needed fixing, was. The PPI mechanic said it looked, felt, drove and even smelled new. No issues whatsoever, even all the fluids and belts have been changed recently. Just drive. It's pure stock, other than an added pin stripe down the side, which hopefully is removable. I have a body guy checking it out the day after it gets here...

There were 3 people he was trying to make happy. It wasn't the easiest of purchases but I was persistent. Some things are worth fighting for! Extensive records from the MB dealership, very clean PPI, mileage and condition were likely not going to come around again for awhile. Plans are to keep it stock with the possible exception of a light window tint. It will look nice next to my pristine '03 E39 m-sport in Topaz over tan.

Thanks for the note. I'll check on the methyl hydrate and hopefully it will work out. I was hoping it was tape but someone just had bad taste but good sense enough to highly maintain it.

I have a call into a local guy as well. It's the only questionable thing I found on the car. Can't wait to take it up the CA coast in a couple weeks for the family spring break trip.

The only thing i would change about the 55 is the seats - having moved from a 211 E55 to a 211 E63 the newer seats were much more comfortable - at the and of the day amazing car you have - the grin will start to hurt your face as you hammer the pedal from stoplight to stoplight

You may be right but when I drove a local E55 during my search, the seats felt really nice. While the sport seats in my E39 540 feel okay and secure, they are pretty hard for longer journeys. With the many adjustments on the E55 seats, I'm guessing I'll feel better after long rides. I'll know more in 6 days. I arrive back from Denver about noon and they deliver it later that day, just in time to clean it up on Friday and take off up the coast on Saturday

14 hours... I arrive into SNA airport at 11:30a and the E55 wagon gets delivered at noon! Not sure how well I'll sleep tonight. Crossing fingers everything is as expected. I did a good amount of due diligence but never bought a car sight unseen before... From noon on, you can find me in the garage with a clay bar, wax, Zymol for the wheels, vacuum and leather conditioner! Bumper plugs and clay bars were shipped this week. Working on some plate ideas. Now that CA has the retro black license plates, it makes sense to make it personal.
