Will 16" S500 rims work for slicks on E55?

Hey guys, I've been reading up what wheels every one is using for their slicks. Sounds like a lot of people are using the 16" CLK wheels with a 5mm spacer. I don't have any of these on craigslist local to me.

I was wondering if any one has used the 16" SLK wheel? I have a set local to me without much information but I believe they are 16x7.5?

https://chico.craigslist.org/wto/d/s...182697877.html

Thanks!

A 7.5" wheel seems kind of on the small side if you're running it for better traction.

Really?! Yeah they will be drag strip only wheels. But most people are talking about using the half inch thinner 16x7 clk wheel! a2084010002

Won't fit. The clk320 wheels are special and have very thin wall and they barely clear the rear calipers.

I'm no expert, but it seems like every drag setup I've read about people use a wider setup than stock, not smaller. I get the weight savings and all that, but you want to have a larger contact patch, which you will generally get by running a wider wheel.

You would think that but every thread that comes up in search has multiple people swearing by the light weight CLK 16x7s with a light weight Hoosier 255/50/16.

Will any of the W211 E-class 16" wheels clear the E55 rear brakes?

The last time I paid any attention to drag stuff was many years ago when I had my 4th gen Z28.

Guess they're just going for lower weight.
