Just got back from the dealer dropping off the invoice. They take the mileage from the car, make a copy of the invoice. AND thats it.
2-3 weeks for the check and it gets mailed to the dealer. You can pick up the check or have them mail it.
OK, when did the warranty on your car officially start? If work was done December of 2017 and your car was purchased in 2006 your SBC warranty extension should have expired, by 1 year minimum.

if you have the receipt for the part it’s worth a shot to try...
I dropped a copy of the invoice and receipt at the dealer a couple weeks ago but they were unsure what would happen, and I'm still waiting to hear back.
