Anyone have experience with these tires? Considering new tires for DD
Hey everyone. My tires are going to be replaced soon, and I was looking at 2 different set of tires. I have aftermarket wheels on my E55K, and currently they are on 255-35-19 and 285-30-19 F&R respectively. I was doing some research and arrived at 2 likely options. I only use the car for daily driving. No track days, canyon roads, or launches but I do like stepping on it once in a while on the highway. My question is, does anyone have any experience with either of these tires? The two sets I am considering are
Otani KC2000 - Same size as above
Federal Evoluzion ST-1 - Same size as above
I am considering these two sets because they both come in the sizes I need, they are both pretty easy on the wallet, and I've seen good things about both of them online. I know some people will say to stay away from cheaper tires, but I don't mind not getting the absolute top of the food chain tire, since I won't be using all of that performance anyways, just as long as the tire doesn't kill me. I am also kind of interested in experimenting, because the set of Otanis are $320 and the Federals are about $450 shipped to my door. I've heard good (albeit limited) things about both tires. I'm leaning towards the Otanis purely because of my curiosity in seeing if they are decent like some people say, or if they are trash. If they are garbage, I'll end up getting a set of something else, and if they're decent then I learn some valuable information. My car makes 480whp and 530wtq because I just got it tuned by Jerry from Eurocharged! (They were great, thanks for the tune!) Again, keep in mind this will simply be for a Daily Driver with no real tire abusing conditions.

I have had Federal 595s before (on a different car) and it was a decent tire. The ride was very hard and the grip was poor, but consequently the treadlife was very good. I would not buy them again because grip is important to me in a 500+hp car.

When you say grip, do you mean from a stop? Or do you mean while moving? I'm okay if a tire doesn't hook if it's at a stop, but if it doesn't hook while moving 40+ mph or whatever speed then that worries me.

It was mostly from a stop that I had an issue. I did have it at speed occasionally in the rain, but never in dry weather.
