Airmatic failure? Does this sound familiar to anyone?

So a couple things happened at once. On my 05 E55 I came out to the driveway and saw the fog lights flashing. I hit the lock button and heard a weird noise from the alarm. Figured it was low on charge due to not driving that much lately. Started right up. No laboring or anything.
After about 20ft of droving i got a warning message im assuming is for the airmatic suspension. Thing rides like it has no springs. The suspension isnt slammed on the ground like i had a leak. Everything seems like its at the correct height. Trying to adjust between comfort/sport 1 and sport 2 does nothing. (After some research found the issue with the fogs flashing. Unrelated but a common thing for the alarm siren failing)

i know without a code or anything its pointless try and diag this but does it sound familiar to anyone? I have a friend that has a tool to comm with the system. Hopefully ill get more info tomorrow.

This place is a joke.
Just happened to me. I never realized the E55 could ride so hard! Fault codes showed my left front acceleration sensor went bad. Replaced it and no more problems. I assume the ESP goes into a limp mode and makes the shocks go full stiff.

Cool. Was it hard to do? Where did you source the part from? Fcp? Pelican?

you'll need an OBD2 diagnostic scanner that has the ability to scan the airmatic module for faults. it'll tell you exactly what has failed.

My buddy says he has something that can talk to the system. If he doesn’t is there a generic scan tool I can use that will? Like NOT the one Mercedes uses? I was doin some reading but I’m not sure. Will this work?

don't know about that tool, but Amazon has a great return policy if a product isn't what was described.

Anyone that has owned a AMG long enough with airmatic suspension, knows the costs associated with a repair.
As I recently found out, after 13 years. I had to replaced my front air struts.

I was lookin at the icarsoft. The one I listed earlier seemed more capable and was only a couple bucks more. I’ll let everyone know if it ever shows up. Thanks to covid19 I prob won’t see it till the end of April. That aside the fault was gone when I started her up today. Drove like a dream. I know it didn’t fix itself. We’ll see what happens. I’ll post again when I know more. Thanks everyone!
