Gas and brake pedals

Does anyone know if those oval studded pedals in the new SL will fit a W210 E55? If yes, does anyone have the parts number as well?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Pat, sure they fit, here are mine. I am using the E-Brake pad with oval studs from the R230 SL and the Gas and Brake pads with round studs from the SLK R170. The SLK pads are much cheaper than the SL pads, but the SLK does not have a foot E-Brake. You can now get all three with round studs from the 2005 C-Class Sport Sedans.

Part Numbers (Of coure prices may have gone up):

R170 ACCELERATOR PEDAL (170-300-00-04) $20.83
R170 BRAKE PEDAL PAD (170-290-01-82) $19.60
R230 E-BRAKE PEDAL PAD (230-430-00-84) $9.80

E55 Kev,

Could you shed some light on how the pedals are installed. Is it a straight remove/replace scenario? Or do these pedal pads get placed on the existing pedals? Etc. ...

Installation details would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

If you use the SLK piece it is simple. I believe the C-Class and SL-Class piece require more work.

The E-Brake and Brake Pedal pads just slip on after you remove the OEM rubber pads. The Brake pedal takes a little muscle to get on.

The Gas Pedal is simple - just remove 2 plastic bolts on the floor and push out a pin at the top to remove the OEM pedal and then replace the entire new pedal piece.

This is a great upgrade to spruce up the interior in the E55. I found that replacing the entire accelerator unit with the SL55 causes the revs to rise due to the throttle by wire. So your best bet is to just slide the SL55 pedal cover over the E55 unit (after sliding off the stock plastic cover). The brake and emergency brake pedals are quite easy to change besides for a possible pinched hand.
