are there any options regarding conrod bearings?
VRP cancelled all orders with their custom made OE replacement bearings...
Mercedes A 1130300160 / 0360 are NLA...
The price Weistec wants - no comment...
Do I or do we have to use the 5.5 NA or stock M113 bearings?
I hope not -.-
Has anybody a full set of original bearings and is willing to sell it (PM me) or knows a aftermarket part number?
Yes, I still have them.
They are in a working engine.
I have to replace the transmission and will pull the engine and transmission together.
Regarding bearings:
I personally like to have everything for a rebuild before I start.
For peace of mind :-)
The only parts I don‘t have yet are conrod and main bearings.
Main bearings are colour coded, but first I have to disassemble the engine to get access to the markings on the crank and block...
So long story short, I still have the conrod bearings - but I‘m not sure about the „matched to“ part of your answer...
They are for sure wear matched after 379k km (235,5k mi) if that‘s what you meant.
OK asking because if bearings are in good shape...especially the main bearings because they are crazy money and a real pain to color match, just get them recoated by Swain coatings in New York, USA. They will be like new and have a nice protective slippery coating on them and you can even have a "thicker" coating put on to make up some clearance. Turn around is one week on average.

It seems to be the perfect solution if you are a local.
But first I‘ll try to get a set of new bearings... shipping the only set I have around the world twice and being dependent on that particular set - big no no :-P
BTW conrod bearings would be 40,- € a pair and main bearings aren’t that expensive either - std pair around 35,- € and lower halves around 20,- €
Final price depending on how many colour coded top and lower halves you‘ll need.
It‘s as annoying as buying conrod or maincap screws:-D

55 NA connecting rod bearings only have the top halve coated but with a hole for oiling and are made by Glyco...

Well this really sucks big time. I have searched as well for new bearings just to keep in stock and no one carries them any longer !!

But it looks like the NPR M113 N/A connecting rod bearings will work but they do have a very small oil hole and that will not effect anything.
They are $75.00 on Ebay.
you should check your crankshaft. theres a colour code on there telling you which conrod bearings to buy. there are a few variants to due to sizing/grinding/tolerancing. get the bearings from the dealer
are these instock any where? in dire need of connecting rod bearings to finish rebuilding my engine. very disappointed vrp canceled production. been trying to find these parts for more the 8 months
I think I found bearings but not sure. A little conflicted if they are correct as they are N/A bearings. Still heavy into the research.
Can you measure a connecting rod journal with calipers....that would help a lot as I never did that on my build so have no info for size.
Also $75.00 for all 8 sets made from Germany.
Have you looked into other benzes bearings or other engines in general? Maybe something like the m157?? From pictures I saw of the m157 ones they appear to have more oiling holes no idea if its the same journal size.
I see the 3.6 mercedes v6 has rod journal Big end diameter and width listed the same size. But the rod itself is a different part number than m113k (SL55) from Pauter: https://pauter.com/parts/rods/mercedes-benz/
Maybe look into aftermarket rods suppliers too if they supply the bearings?
Thats ok I have it figured out and found N/A rod bearings. The outside diameter is around 51.65mm. They do have a hole in one half but that will have no effect on anything as I have built engines that had holes in them ,bearings , and upon tear down everything perfect. You can also buy two sets if you wanted to get around it but no worrys.

so the N/A rod bearings are the same as the 55k bearings? away from the hole?
