Another important aspect is how you broke-in your engine from new. If you did it nice and easy, never over 4000RPM for 1000miles bla, bla bla, and did not seal the piston rings properly in the first 20 miles or so with a few hard runs to the red line and back again with engine compression slowing you down, you car may be lazy - an irreversible condition affecting all Camrys ...LOL

The current E55 missed that day of driving school. Its so fun to drive that in 6 months i put 12k miles on it (driving for work) and in the last 5 months I parked it and put 1.5k miles on it. Looks better in the garage all clean rather than pounding and understeering along.
Never once said an E500 was faster than a E55.....302 vs 469.... no gearing can fix that....

Yes! Read this controversial method, which works, but takes guts...

It could of been E500 with Kompressor...tuned by any major Merceder tuner or had NOS ...
Remember Kleemann can make 595 HP out of 5.0 liter engine...MKB, Renntech and others can make 500 run like stock E55 K...

Erik...What can you say about MKB stage 1 (ECU and Air Duct intake) for 211 E55 which brings power to 540 HP and Torgue to 735...

My dad's E55, also an '04 but early year production model, seems MUCH more skippy on the throttle and definitely feels faster. I raced an E500 tonight and I had to try pretty hard to stay out in front.

if your e55 is feeling competition from an e500 u need to make sure your waterpump and sensors for the supercharger are not faulty- it will cause a complete failure of the supercharger's engagement- this has happened on both my c32 and my e55. the problem was solved easily by the dealer and it's common on all the amg supercharged cars from what i have seen by my experiences and my friends. without the supercharger engaged the e55 is a dog- it's like night and day.
i race sport bikesband keep up- no e500 can do that with out lots of nitrous or aftermarket gear. hell i paid for the extra 50% hp and torque, i damn better be getting it or they can have the car back!
