I second the brisk plugs avoid at all costs. I used to own a 2014 ecoboost pickup and there were plenty of cases where brisk plugs broke apart after just a few hundred miles. Avoid at all costs.

Research Ecoboost F150 brisk plug failures. They are junk

Hate to tell you but detonation caused your trouble not the plug. You have physical damage to the plug. You haven't even pulled the head off yet so not sure why you think the problem is your plug. I bet a chunk of ring land is missing too.

I remove the hose that attached the turbo from the compressor side to the intercooler
And when I start the car it Pors oil from it
I do compression test it passes No problem

I have seen no less the 5 F150s have brisk plugs fail on 100% stock trucks . It was not detonating brisk plugs should be avoided

I was told that if you have the 2012/2013 E63 models, you should upgrade plugs if doing a tune. 2014+ E63 came with a colder plug and now if you were to buy a plug for a 2012/2013 that you would get the 2014+ plug. I called the dealer and they confirmed it, so whose using these updated plugs with a tune and is fine?

yes, now they are but originally there weren't. Originally the 2012/2013 had hotter plugs which caused the misfire, so they changed the part # and gave the 2012/2013 the same plugs as the 2014+. If you ask the dealer, they'll tell you the 2012/2013 got new part #s due to the change

that would explain why tuners recommend current stock plugs with them being one step colder than the original verison of stock plugs

I have the revised plugs (2014+) also. 3k miles tuned, no issues.

yes, got my updated plugs today as well as a SPEEDRIVEN tune, my 2012 E63 had the original plugs and they were all white which clearly means they were getting hot. They definitely would've exploded if I were to leave them on with the tune. The stock updated plugs are the way to go IMO. Forget everything else

I can confirm that MB has changed/updated spark plugs, and I've also attended the technical engines Class for the M276/M278 direct injection engines. One thing I remembered is that the spark plugs/electrodes were indexed, meaning that the threads of the plugs and the electrodes were "timed" the same on every plug, and all of the threads on the cylinder heads start at the same place, so when the spark plugs are properly torqued, the electrodes wind up in the same position inside of the combustion chamber in every cylinder. I highly recommend running factory plugs on any sort of tuned engine south of ~850hp. My dealership deals directly with Renntech, and Rennntech suggests the use of OEM Mercedes Benz plugs, saying they need replacement every 10k-15k miles. In my vehicle with their "intermediate" tune, I run the gaps slightly tighter than factory, around .024. Also noteworthy, we have been replacing cylinder heads for burnt valve seats, so while replacing a spark plug is probably one of the quickest and most cost effective way to "troubleshoot" a misfire, spark plugs aren't always the cause. There's some great information in this thread, but I figured I'd put my .02 cents in for some food for thought.

AMS just recommended a tighter gap because of misfires. I have yet to put them in. OEM plugs
