I had mine done about 1/2 year ago, as I remember it was around 500 bucks and the dealer. Not cheap but glad i got it done, these Transmissions live tough lives with all the torque these motors put out. There was a amazing change in the car when I got it back, they had to reflashed the module because now it downshifts a lot faster and just feels like it has a lot more pep to it, seems to upshift faster too and less of the jerky type of feeling. I shoulda asked what they did to it, but have not been back since.

Transmission service is not hard to DIY, just messy. There are post to guide you. I think the $400 is a flush. Should be more if the filter is replaced.

Is this a service thats ok to take to an independent? I like using the dealer, but $400 for a flush?

I think 400.00 is very reasonable. The same transmission service for my Genesis 4.6 with the ZF transmission is over 600.00. Its not a flush it is a drain and refill and new filter installed.Originally Posted by Brucealeg

I was pretty happy with the trans service on mine even though it was expensive, I too got a loaner brand new E350 sedan and my car was washed and vacuumed out. The had to have done a software update on my car too as it drives so much better since the trans service.

The ZF transmission filter kit and ZF6 transmission oil is more than $300, due to the filter is intergraded into the transmission pan.
I would think Indy would charge the same rate, as the transmission does not have a filler tube. The tech has to use an over fill tube to drain out extra fluid. If you can't DIY, it is best to let the dealer to do the transmission service.

Re flashing the tcu shouldn't affect the ecu tune; but if there is an ecu update they apply then of course it willOriginally Posted by Georgee6086

Just tell them you don't want any ecu updates ... That won't sound suspicious

Do you think they would be able to determine if the tcu already has the updated software? And if it did would it be beneficial to Re flash again? I notice in my car it shifts violently into 4th at wot.Originally Posted by PeterUbers
