Why is m5 faster that e63s
I am so sick of hearing how some cars are faster, ON A ROLL
.The LAUGHABLE BMW launch control makes M cars very difficult to launch at stoplights, that is unless you're a PlayStation gamer and have every cheat code to Mortal Kombat memorized by heart
. The M6 Grand Coupe is a masterpiece of a car (beautiful too) and the E63 S AWD even beats that off the line.Anyone who can actually drive and can time their paddle shifts well can smoke F10 M5s on the freeway too. You can tell by the 3-honk starts on the freeway that these guys are racing in auto and not manual shift in most of the videos I have seen.
The M5 is a very nice car and I'm certainly not putting it down, but it's not E63 S fast, it's just not.
I think one of the reasons the m5 is faster is it probably make more power than advertised and is able to put more power to the wheels over the e63. Also the DCT makes a difference as u loose no power between shifts.

"Why is the M5 the best car of all time and the solution to world hunger and the national debt....and The cure for cancer?"

In this article, the E63 S is the fastest car from 0-130 MPH @12.8 seconds. It's trap speed in the 1/4 is also higher than the M5 CP.
You're probably referencing the Motor Trend article here:

If the F10 M5 Comp Package isn't as quick, you can bet the standard M5 isn't. The M5 CP is a very closely matched car to the E63 S. The standard F10 M5 is not.
The DCT is a great transmission, but I don't agree it shifts faster.
Road and Track isn't good enough, we need another article for reference.

Next I would need another reference to the second reference. Let's say that on most runs the M5 CP pulls a higher trap speed. This is a testament to RWD/2WD and less weight. If at the end of the day, the E63 S wins 9/10 runs (which it will), no one cares. PEOPLE REMEMBER THE CAR THAT WON THE RACE. Motor Trend says the E63 S is faster and Road and Track demonstrates that the E63 S is faster. It's not blow the M5 CP away faster, but it's faster. Period. YouTube videos show several stock W212 E63 S 11.6-8 runs, what is there left to debate??
I'm am convinced that some of you guys are just so incredibly desperate to debate that you'll foster illogical and ridiculous beliefs just so you can debate!!
I have said it A LOT, the F10 M5 is a very nice car, but the E63 S is a faster car for almost everything but "Roll Racing" (for which I'm about to puke if I hear one more "debater" troll on about).
The person who buys an M5 is looking for a lot more than performance. They are attracted to the brand and the feel/look/sound of the BMW M5. Great, more power to you, awesome. The E63 S AMG owner is attracted for likewise reasons.
All in all, I wouldn't trade my 2016 E63 S AMG 4Matic for an M5 CP. I personally think they are overpriced. Now if money is no object?? My favorite Bimmer is the M6 Grand Coupe, now that's a rolling piece of art. Despite the fact that the M5 is essentially the same thing, it's the look of that thing that I love.

Yes, Im well aware the e63 beat the m5 0-60 & 1/4 mile. All that means is that the e63 is quicker than the m5 due to AWD from a dead stop. When I raced my buddy e63 from a dig he beats me and I was expecting it due to AWD.
I believe the correct terms are as follows E63 is QUICKER due to ET and the M5 is FASTER due to MPH. E63 = dig winner & M5 = roll winner.

The whole point of this thread wasnt even about which is faster on a roll. Because m5 is faster for a fact.
It was more about why a more powerfull car(wheel horespower) loses to a less powerfull car.
