Best tires for E63-S?
Just wanted some opinions on good tires for the E63-S. I currently have Pirelli PZero and they are not cutting it. Need to replace them asap. It seems like they don't make Michelin PSS in the size I need, that is my tire of choice.

Conti DW, or DWS for all-season. When it's dry, PSS might be doing better. When wet, DW is still the king.

I have the P Zeroes. Great tire IMO. Yes, the PSS is better.
You could always go with the PSS with a 295 rear. The size difference won't make much of a difference, and though you're not supposed to mount them on a 9.5" rim, there are a few who have done so without issue.

Michelin PSS is a great choice.
265 front and 295 rear, fits, no issues

Whatever you choose, pay attention to...
the installation!!
I just replaced mine this week, and when I picked the car up, they had mounted both rear tires on the front wheels, and vice versa. Both front wheels/rear tires were mounted on the passenger side, rear wheels/front tires on the driver's side! I noticed it from 10 feet away, and had to point out to the service mgr that the wheels are staggered, and the tires were mis-mounted.
This occurred at a Porsche dealership service dept, where I'm sure staggered wheels aren't uncommon.

Wow, sounds like the installer must have been high on crack cocaine or something, that is just crazy, even a amateur would know the bigger tires go on the rear wheels and the more narrow on the front, thats just crazy, I woulda been really pissed and insisted on at least a voucher for a free oil change or something as compensation for your troubles.

BTW, I hope you had loosened and re-torqued all your wheel bolts before leaving. If not, you better do that now. Hopefully some bolts are not so tight to warp the rotor.
So no rubbing with the larger rims up front?

I wanted the Michelins but wasn't willing to take the risk with the incorrect rear tire size.
I went with Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position XL
I'm pleased with the performance of these tires. Very grippy and quite

I did the same thing. People claim it works, I just worried knowing my luck if the rear diff went or something they would probably try to void my warranty or something saying I'd put 295's on the rear when it called for 285's as a excuse. I've had good luck with the pole positions, I'm on my second set and they are about 1/2 worn. Probably gonna try the either the conti dw or the w06 next time around for a change. The pole positions do hook up nice like you said. They seem to be good for around 12k miles or so with the way I drive.

I've had 295/30R19 Yokohama AD08R's on my rear wheels for a few days and they are way better than the Pirelli P-zeros I had before. The grip is substantially improved. I've not had Michelin PSS so can't compare to those unfortunately.

The stock Pzeros of 255 and 285 have mismatched rolling diameters from the factory.
The rolling diameter of a 295/30/19 matches 255/35/19.
I am running PSS on a 10" rim. Way better tire than the PZero.

You want to say, that on stock forged wheels mercedes did wrong tires and we should use 255 front and 295 rear on 9.5 inch

255/35/19 = 799.15 revolutions per mile
285/30/19 = 808.32 revolutions per mile
295/30/19 = 800.97 revolutions per mile
What I am saying is that the 255 / 295 combination is better matched than the 255 / 285 combo that comes from the factory if you are worried about warranty and tire sizes.
AWD systems usually have some "give" allowed. This is evidence that the 4Matic in the W212 allows for different tire sizes as the factory tires aren't the same rolling diameter.

Would like to see some pictures of the upsized 295/30/19 Mich. PSS on the rear on our OEM 9.5" width rims. I've been contemplating running 265/35/19-F and 295/30/19-R when I have to put new tires on.
