I just bought a car from a MBW member. It was advertised on this forum as well as on Craigslist in SF, which is near me. It is a 2012 E63 AMG. Designo with Paladium silver exterior and Mystic red interior. It has a lot of options but most notable are the Designo, Pano, P30, Driver assist and CCB. The car has been serviced by MBZ and came with transferable Maintenance, service and wheel protection. I think the owner did not get much action on this car due to a high asking price, but eventually agreed to a much more reasonable price that I was OK with.
Thus far I am very happy with the car. It is bone stock and I am likely to not change much on the car. If anything the car just seems pretty quiet unless you are at WOT. Even though I got this as a sports sedan for business use, a bit more exhaust note would be nice. I have read about the resonator delete and am considering that. Any thoughts or advise is appreciated.
Only thing done so far is a through cleaning (car was near spotless), and replace a side marker that had a crack (no paint damage).
Love the car so far. I had looked at a few C63's and the rear seat room was just too tight. Also looked at an S63 that was stunning, but really would just barely fit in my garage. One to small...one to big and the E series is just right. Been watching this forum for quite some time, and joined when I got a car. My last Mercedes was a 2006 Brabus. As nice as that was, this car seems higher quality so far. I appreciate the wealth of knowledge and help on this forum. I'm looking forward to being a member.

Yup, I remember seeing this one before because the INT looks so good. Those are the seller's pics, right? Maybe I'm mistaken...

Wow, very nice car. Theres a lot to be said about even the older one's. I have a 2012 and love it. I have a new one on order but almost wonder sometimes if I'm a making a mistake as I've heard some quality issues with the other AMG models and wonder if perhaps the new ones are not made as well as these older ones. I may consider keeping this 2012 Wagon I have in a addition to the newer one just to be safe, I really don't have to sell it and having two amg's would be cool. I've had no problems at all with my 2012 Amg, I won't do a tune as I don't want to stress out the engine and cut into it's longevity, plus not crazy about the idea of having to change plugs so often, I'm just a tad over 50K miles and still running the original plugs and the car runs perfect.

one thing I'll suggest is doing a more mile stage 1 tune. Doing this will keep the maintenance of the spark plugs pretty much the same as stock and give a nice power bump. I also think being a 5.5L V8 the tunes are more reliable long term on these than smaller displacement such as new 4.0 motors.Originally Posted by 2012 merc amg

i very much appreciate the advice. I'm in CA so whatever I do needs to be "smog legal" , invisible or reversible. Is there such a thing?Originally Posted by Amg63-

No, not really, well with the exception of the rebellion Piggy back tune, but I think thats only around a 60 hp boost or so, maybe that's your answer though.Originally Posted by FST BENZ

congrats - what part of the Bay Area do you live in? The next Cars/Croissants at Santana Row we are trying to get some AMG's on the top of the parking garage.
get an x-pipe and remove the resonators - it'll really wake up the neighbors are WOT

I am close to Santana Row relatively speaking....in in Los Altos near Foothill College. Id love to bring the car one day. Let me know when it is and I will check my calendar. Ill try to fine it online in the mean time. I also have a pretty unique 1965 Mustang Fastback. Full aluminum 427 stroker with weber 48IDA's.....maybe another time.

great - looking forward to seeing that car in person - the mustang sounds like a monster - the SR event is typically all Euro flavor with a few Ford GT's prowling -Originally Posted by FST BENZ
