Best Tires for E63S

Daily driven bay area car, need four seasons performance, with focus on the dry/ mildly wet roads, anything crazyier ill drive my truck. I feel like my Pirelli p zero are noisy. Michelin does not make the PSS in the sizes for the car.... Options? Bridgestone s0-4 reviews seem great except they seem horrible for tread wear based on reviews. Please chime in!

2016 E63s Wagon
Subscribed. our CPO appears to have come with a fresh set of the P-Zeros. Have read one track night will roast them, so looking for next option myself as well.

Michelin does have the A/S 3+ for them but this is an all season tire . . . for daily driving makes sense maybe: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...ndard%20Brakes

If you are interested in an extremely quiet and smooth riding max performance 3 season tire, consider the new Continental Extreme Contact Sport. After a few hundred miles of break-in, the performance is outstanding and the tires are very quiet. I've gone from OE P Zeros to the Continental DWS to these. These are by far the best.

My wagon came with Pirellis as well and I find them to be extremely noisy specially at high speeds. Would love to see Michelin ps4 in our sizes.

The Michelin A/S 3's that were on my wagon when I bought it are wearing very well, grip VERY good and have amazingly good traction.

Hankook

I’m also a Bay Area driver. When the Pirellis that came with my E63 wagon expired, I replaced them with Hankook V12 Ventus, which are definitely quiet for the profile, and have a better treadwear rating without giving up any of the performance characteristics.

Depending on what's most important to you, I'd also recommend the Hankooks. Much quieter ride for sure. Note: the sidewall is noticeably softer, meaning the car will feel a little more squishy in corners. However, performance is still quite good on the street and straight track. After putting 36,000 miles on this car, I've found the true max performance tires are beyond what this car can actually 'do', pirelli's included.

Very interesting, can you expound? I mean, the wagon (or sedan) isn't exactly a nimble 1.0g+ auto cross car, who are we kidding, but still . . . when I think realistically about driving habits - 95+ % of the miles will be on the road. "Spirited" or not. Really points towards the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S . . .

Sure thing. I haven't run an all-season tire so can't comment there. However, at this point I would not go back to a firm sidewall tire (pzero, ps4s, etc) on this car. Personal choice I guess. I know some folks do auto cross this car and do canyon runs, etc; for them, probably makes sense, but for the street, the super firm sidewall and heat-up temps I now view as a negative. I drive the car hard all of the time, and do notice a difference having made the change, but it's a better balance for me. Can still drive hard, straight line performance is still great, braking is good, etc. If this was an m3 or something that was nimble, probably have a different perspective.

I had the Conti extremes DWS on my Audi and was very disappointed in the dry performance. The tires felt "squishy" and was noticeably less grippy than the regular Conti Sports they replaced. The Michelin A/S 3's feel almost like a dry ultimate performance tire (felt just as good as the P Zeros they replaced) but with excellent grip in the wet. I highly recommend them.

Were they the old style DWS? The 06 was quite a departure from the original, much better performance all around, and not as soft as a sidewall aka 'squishy'.

I bought them right before getting rid of my Audi, so that was just over 2 years ago. I think they were the 06s.

on my 211 wagon i used to run Bridgestone Pozenza's and loved them but on my 212 running Nitto Invo's (20's) and love them - the tread pattern is aggressive - road noise is low - grip is good - towards the end on last set they were sliding a bit, but still like em
