2014 E63 AMG S ESTATE
Does anyone have W212 AMG production numbers?

Hey guys, I am new to the forum and a just bought 2014 E63 S AMG Wagon. Ive seen the production numbers on older AMGs(pre 2010) but not on the newer cars. Does anyone have any info regarding this? Im looking to see how many AMG Wagon were produced for the US market for the W212 model. I have heard for 2014 its around 124 units and that they were special order cars. Mine is optioned pretty nicely with the ceramic brakes and exterior carbon package. Thanks in advance. BTW this machine so practical and its is a rocket ship.

I would also be curious about production numbers for the Sedan to compare as a ratio against the wagons. It seems for W210 folks were even able to get counts by color

If you contact MBUSA you may request production numbers for W212 & S212 along with additional details on either or both.

Thank you for the info. Great to know. I just called and they're closed, but I'll check with them on Monday. I'm surprised no one has posted it online like the previous AMG cars.

I was also told 124 for 2014

My dealer said that the MB records he could access show 124 E63S Estates sold in the US. Also, the March 2018 issue of The Star (MB Club of America) has a nice article on the AMG Wagons. It states that 2014-2016 AMG wagon sales were "approximately 1,200 units".

I am curious to know numbers on S212. Specifically 2016 but any and all data would be appreciated. If you are not able to get your hands on any information I may try.

I tried to scan the page but it didn't come out cleanly. Here are the data as recorded in The Star: 2005-6 126, 2007-9 153, 2012-13 209, and 2014-16 "approximately 1,200". It appears that the AWD definitely increased demand.

MBUSA has replied to me email. So there were 447 units sold for the 2014 model.

Thank you for your email to Mercedes-Benz USA, and congratulations on your purchase!

MBUSA only carries information on the total number of vehicle's sold for a particular year. For 2014, the total number of 2014 E63 Wagons sold were 447. As it takes several years to collect the total number of sales, we do not have 2015 and 2016 numbers.

I thought of doing exhaust and a tune but I kinda want to keep it stock. It's a CPO so I don't want to mess with it. It's plenty fast, but how is yours with the tune?

You're very welcome. I called (800) 367-6372. That's the contact they have on their website so I called them, asked my question and they emailed me. I was surprised how simple it was. They won't disclose how many were "built" but they tell you how many were "sold" in the US. So if 1200 were built for 2014-16 then these numbers seem to be somewhat correct. I have driven the RWD and I will say AWD is a lot more refined for daily driving unless you just want to have your TC constantly coming on from all the wheel spin. Haha

Found this from gtcarlot some of the numbers don't add up... Example the percentage of e63 should equal the number of m157 motor... But it doesn't look.

2015 232,453 55,888
2016 304,200 50,896

So using those numbers... here are the wagons per year.
2014 256
2015 3465
2016 203
as you can see, the numbers are a bit funky, but they are the best we got until someone finds some better ones lolI'm guessing the discrepancy with 2015 is the 6.8% is not of the total production, but of the 6.9% of the AMGs.

Also I'm not sure if those percentages are of the total worldwide production which is about 300,000 per year, or of the USA sales which is those 50,000 numbers

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
They likely produced extra engines per the w212 chassis for repair work ... perhaps skewing the % comparison?

interesting data - and a good reminder that the true profit driving vehicles for benz are the c300's, e350's etc

Thanks for posting that. It's fun to have a peek at just how rare (or common) each build is.

Post

I've attached a list of all 2010-2011 E63 AMG sedans produced, which I used when searching for one to buy. I was only looking for an M156 car hence why I don't have numbers for '12-'16 model years. The screenshots show a few different summaries for models made for the US market. The screenshot with 201A, 205A, etc shows the distribution of interior colors. 201A: standard black, 205A: standard beige, 208A: standard gray; 801A: premium black; 805A: premium beige, 808A: premium gray.

I got it by scraping some of those VIN decoding sites that give you the full spec of the car. It's pretty tricky to do though because Mercedes VINs are not sequential.
