Daily 2014 E63 Wagon in New England?

Hi all - I'm looking at buying a 2014 E63 wagon with about 60k miles on it. This would be my daily driver in the Northeast..... Is this a bad idea? Dealer is asking 58k. I want some insight from folks who drive in the winter as well as your thoughts on the potential high mileage.

Thanks

I live in Boston and daily my sedan and go up to the mountain most weekends in the winter. Threw winters on the stock wheels and it hasn't seen anything it couldn't handle yet

Don't mean to hijack your thread. But, wanted to say thats a great set of questions as I am in the exact same boat. Living in the northeast, looking to buy an awd wagon for daily use.

60k miles is still a baby bro. nothing to be concerned about for m157. only thing is theres a lot of service/maintenace due around the 60k mark. so assuming those have been coimpleted already it would be a great deal. I wish I had bought mine around 60k miles or more, would've saved a lot of money. Going for low miles was almost completely pointless for me, I even exceeded my extended warranty without needing any repairs which also sucked.

I can't give you any long term advice as my wagon just arrived 3 days ago, but I absolutely love it and I say go for it!

2016 E63 Wagon
I have a 2016 wagon up here in Toronto that is my daily and it's been rock solid over the past 2.5 years. I often drive in lake effect snow areas (western MI and upstate NY) and it handles as well as my 2007 S4 Avant (6MT). I was a bit worried about having an automatic transmission in snow/ice but it hasn't been an issue and it's easy to switch to manual mode. You will have no problems in inclimate weather with an E63 so long as you're smart about your driving and have proper snow tires. Good luck!

I'm also in Canada (Montreal) and so am very familiar with New England-style winters. I'm going into my 4th winter with a 2012 E63 wagon (which is RWD on top of it AND is tuned to ~ 670HP) and have used the car as a 45-mile daily commuter through two of them.

It's exactly as stated above...drive according to the road conditions/don't be a winter idiot, and don't skimp on snow tires -- I've been on Hakka 8s & 9s and couldn't ask for more unless I went studded. Between good snow tires and the car's electronics you shouldn't be concerned unless you're in a ton of snow.

2016 E63 S AMG
As others have mentioned, it's fine daily driving. I'm right in between the last two posters and have (or has as of Sat) a '16 and no issues in snowy driving conditions. AMG 4Matic is very predictable and even more fun when traction control turned off.

If you decide to buy that car, I would be interested to hear how much you are able to get it for . Manheim is at around $47k for a 60,000 mile wagon . So, I would think you should be able to get it in the lowe $50's .

Thanks for that data point. I'm going to sit out for a couple of weeks to see if it sells.

I have a non-wagon W212 and it's a beast! I live on a huge hill and I've never had any issues. I also work in Providence (aka Afghanistan) and it takes pot holes/road damage like a champ.

Awesome, good to know. I live right outside of Boston so this makes me more confident.

I looked at the one in Natick twice. I think the mileage is making me hesitant. It's a really clean car, previous owner was local. They also pulled all the maintenance for me as well.
