brembo 2 piece rotors

Thoughts on these brembo 2 piece rotors vs the zimmerman replacements vs the OE brembos

i know 2 piece are lighter and when the disc wears out u just replace the disc and not the hat, right

found these on fcp

time has come for all disc, and pads
( disc are 67K miles old)

The Brembo are the same as OEM. Brembo makes the rotors for Mercedes E63. I use the Brembo and purchased them here https://www.oembimmerparts.com/Merce...2194210212.htm

I like how FCP has lifetime replacements... If I'd ever use it. .. what I don't see on their site is just the disc replacement with out the hat.. which makes the point moot.

Anyone use girodisc

I don't think so, these (Brembo's) Rotors coming with Hats for sure..!,,

and "FCP" selling them with Hats, (as a parts of complete floating Rotors)..

hey..Vdub. I have the FCP rotors including Brembo fronts and ZImmerman rears with EBC Red pads. They've been great, every bit as good as the OEM set up i had and just replaced at 30k miles.

FCP told me their life time warranty involves buying the 2nd set of New rotors from FCP, then returning the 1st set to them and they credit you the $$$ back. I paid around 1500 total in parts for front/rear rotor and pads and my indy guy installed them for 500 bucks, so all in was 2k compared to nearly 5k from dealer.

Are there no rotors available without the crack-prone cross-drills?

this is great info thanks

but i have a 2012, non 4 matic car... and i just want to confirm, that i have different part numbers than your car
from what i gather my front rotors are 2124210512
front pads are 0074207620

rear rotors 2124230412
rear pads 0074209320

i assume they are same for same yr cls, and i figure they are same for 4 matic cars but just wanted to confirm

non ceramic of course

I can't speak to Girodiscs on the MB platform but I do have them for my STi (both front and rear). They are wonderful. I love them. Not only do they look great, they aren't drilled, and the quality is phenomenal. I know there was a substantial weight savings when I replaced my stock Brembo rotors for the Girodiscs. A bunch of folks over at Rennlist run Girodiscs as well and like them. I sometimes get clicking when creeping slowly but that's to be expected when you have floating rotors, my track bikes do the same.

On my Daytona 675's there are circular connectors between the inner and outer rings of the rotor, and two of those are clicking when the wheel rotates at a slow speed, it's clicking because there is slight movement as you'd expect with a two piece floating rotor. Years ago I thought there was a problem but then reading others having the same noise with floating rotors I didn't think anything of it. As long as the rest of the rotor shows no damage or anything wearing out that was a completely normal thing for it. Many many track days later and still zero issues on/off track.

Have to check the floating bolts carefully, some of them may not tights properly..!,

also check the pins that holds the retaining clips, sometimes pins heads moves constantly, with hard braking.!!

I saw the explanation below and I don't know if that is correct, but sounds plausible. I have had numerous cars with floating rotors in the past and none of them clicked due to rotor/pin movement.
What IS common to make such noises is when the pads are a fraction of a mm too small, esp in fixed rotors. makes for easier install, but makes them go click every time you roll forward and backwards at slow speed.

Price sounds reasonable. I am very impressed with how many miles you were able to get out of the rotors.

Girodisc are great - i had them on my 211 E63 wagon - lighter/strong as **** - minimal fade - and made in the USA - failure rate is nil
