Time for new front brakes... Zimmermann vs Brembo
Looking for some advice. 14 e63. Both Zimmermann and Brembo seem to offer a replacement from brake rotor in a two piece design. Brembos are $500 per and Zimmermann $800 per. Is there any difference. TRW pads were recommended for $200 both sides. I’d rather not throw money away if I don’t have to. I have a seized middle piston to deal with on one caliper as well. Any advice would be much appreciated. Btw - no definitive diagnosis on the rear suspension malfunction in cold from last week but seeing other posts looks like the bellows.

I used the oem brembo rotors with ebc red pads. For me it feels alot better bite then the oem pads had. Dont have to press as much of the pedal to get the car to start slowing down. The car only has 15k so the pads were mostly replaced due to the annoying brake dust and rotors i got for free from a friend(i think mine are still good)

EBC red pads have been fantastic much less brake dust and feels like a little bit better bike than OEM pads
Unless you really want something different for your brakes, I would think it’s a no brainer to buy the rotors from FCP euro and never have to pay for rotors again

This forum is filled with brake rotor and pad discussions. A quick search can give you all the answers and pointers. For example, check these threads out:
best source for new 2 piece front rotors - MBWorld.org Forums
Pads/Rotors replacement cost 2014 E63S - MBWorld.org Forums
Brembo rotors are, perhaps, the optimal choice with prices around $325/per front wheel and $80/per rear wheel. You can drive the price down somewhat if you buy them together and shop around. FCPEuro is a popular source with lifetime warranty, and Newparts may be slightly cheaper. The choice of pads is insane and depends on your requirements (intended use). For typical street use, great bite, noiseless, and low dust folks appear to prefer EBC Redstuff, Hawk HPC 5.0, StopTech Street, and CarboTech 1521. For track use, the heat range is different and usually requires you to give up noiseless and dustless like Endless, RADO, EBC Yellowstuff, CarboTech XP. I can recommend EBC Redstuff very much, price is $110 front p/n DP31939C, $130 rear p/n DP32117C if you shop around.
Good luck with your research and brake job.
