But I'm not sure if ecu or tcu tune
pop the ecu out and see if there is leaking silicone at the seams or evidence of tampering

Like you, I would want to know what has been done to the car previously. It's not necessarily a bad thing. If it's a tune you were already thinking about, then they saved you some money...

No disrespect to these guys in Dallas, but I'll throw my recommendation for EuroCharged Austin (Georgetown) into the mix. They are brand specialists with the fastest E55 and one of the fastest E63S's on the planet. They also have a direct link back to some of the most respected AMG tuners, for both ECU and TCU. Dave and Adam are AMG nutters and know these cars intimately. They have steered my hand over the course of my modding journey and are directly responsible for a lot of these AMG E63S's getting into the 10's, safely. While I have documented my journey within this sub-forum, EC ATX were the guys helping me get there. All my successes are due in no small part to their expertise and integrity.
