Ive used several, but I was very impressed with my last one.
I went through xxxxxxx (edit)
First, do you know how it works? Everyone's a broker, its really rare to go through an owner. meaning they simply submit a "bid to dispatch"
You can submit a bid for any amount, $100 or $10,000. Truckers can see the bids and based pick them at their own will. Of course a $10,000 bid will get picked up instantly, a $800 bid may sit for months. So your bid need to be competitive. Where the broker comes in is critical. I shipped my e63 from AZ to FL. I used uship when hooked me up with SGT. They gave me a "special rate" of for open hauler $1500.... but it sat for 3 weeks. I called Tony and he looked up SGT bid, found out they only bid $800, and were pocketing $700. Tony and i talked about what a good bid for the truckers was, and he said his fee was a flat $(edit) We bid for an enclosed $1300, picked up next day. So happy at his transparency.
By the way SGT tried to come after me and still collect. I literally had to read them their own contract and threaten suing them to get them to cancel. They backed off.
Edit,
Originally I'd recommended a shipper, but on my last experience they had raised their broker fee considerably. I no longer recommend them

Just bought an 18 e63s from a dealer in Georgia, and after looking into transport costs, I opted to just fly down there and drive it all the way home to Massachusetts. Prices are stupid right now. I know, I know unnecessary miles, but I look forward to the drive. Good Luck!

Kenney provides a good synopsis of how the industry works.
I've used a few different companies. I think the first thing to do is decide whether you want enclosed or open. That seems to be the biggest differentiator in price. After that decision is made, pricing is more competitive.
Also CONGRATS on the car! I hope you enjoy it.

I paid about $1400 from IL to CA. Can’t go cheap and could sit because they want to make it worth while to pick especially if it’s from a secluded area.

I just remembered the name of the place I've used a few times with good results. Freedom auto transport in Florida. They just bid out but use a good network from my experiences.

Shipped Chicago -> DC using United Van Lines (they just broker as noted) $1100 a few years back with $66k in damage coverage. Open trailer.
They were great to work with but couldn't tell you if they were any better or worse than other brokers. I guess its a crapshoot which subcontractor you get and if he's any good.
