Just curious as my warranty is ending… and I have had friends that spent way too much once Airmatic starts to get finicky.

Yes, the hardware is the same, but instead of a spring and strut, you have an air bag. You just need to make sure you disengage the compressor.

I had the KW variant 3 coilovers on my Subaru STI and they were AMAZING!!!

Dialed in they were smoother than stock, and allowed it to handle better than my 911. The on ramp out of our neighborhood has a dip in it that will unsettle 99+% of vehicles, but the Subaru soaked it up with no issues.

Highly recommend KW suspension.

We only have rear air bags and they are easy to swap. I say keep them.
The bigger issues is the front shocks that are AMG specific.

I do like pressing "Comfort" on the ****ty roads.

Maybe I'll just do the lowering kit and keep it all.

I'm itchy for springtime and just have car cabin fever lol.

Thanks guys.

The KW HAS kit is the only one available for the 212. It's a pair of front adjustable spring perches with springs and adjustable links in the rear that trick the car into lowering itself. It does not replace shocks or airbags. It's a relatively easy install and the ride quality is outstanding.

We have fixed springs in the front, nothing special
KW HAS works very well and provides adjustable alternative to the OEM setup.

On the shoulder
I have the KW HAS and am happy with them.

But I do wonder if you could save some weight by doing coils all around and removing all of the equipment for the air suspension? Hmmm...

Maybe we are saying the same thing...
Springs yes, but the shocks are AMG specific and cost an arm and a leg....

Compared to some other german cars where the airbags are special for the sportier versions and cost more (and of course because they are integrated with the shocks), we have a standard W212 bags and separate shocks in the rear, so the bag fails, we can replace just it - not the entire assembly. .
And because we don't have bags in front, it's less likely to have the multiple bag failures you see on other brands (looking at you Audi!)

So, only the rear levels up and down? Front is fixed?

What stiffens it all up when hit I the shock button?

Local shop has the KW HAS in stock but they quoted (cough) 6-8 hours lol lol lol.

The front struts and rear shocks are what electronically adjust. The rear air bags just alter height based on how much cargo load it carries. The KW front kit is adjustable. Comes with a wrench and you just lower or raise the collar. I put my fronts as low as they go.

I installed the front KW HAS kit in less than 1.5 hours. The rear only takes 45 min to install but takes longer to adjust. I think I spent 2 hours all in on the rear.

Take it somewhere else or DIY. It's really easy.

The kit is the same for sedans and wagons from 10-16 afaik.

KW HAS are not coilovers. They are coilover sleeves. Basically adjustable lowering springs. They would still require that you replace the rear dampers if they are bad or have mileage on them.

There are absolutely zero good coilovers on the market for W212 E63s.

This is 100% correct. They will likely wear oem struts and shocks out faster as well.
