I dont quite agree with your frustration with other owners. If we are comfortable spending $50,000 - $130,000 on a premium vehicle, $400 is not something to stress about having to take the time to code it and deal with it. In fact, its not even worth following up to your response, quite honestly. Relax, its Monday morning!

When you factor in whatever hourly rate you'd charge yourself to implement Muffin's hack, discount any potential enjoyment you might get out of the task, but then add back in a premium to cover the uneasy feeling of self-hacking your $100k+ car...you can get to a total well over $400.

Self oil changes don't really make much financial sense, but to me the economics change because I enjoy doing it and I like knowing it was done correctly.

A brake job might be the pinnacle of shade-tree savings.

If I wanted (versus "need" per the now closed thread) to lower my car, and knowing that this is a simple CAN bus procedure, I'd certainly go the route of buying a USB to CAN adapter module and sending a few commands versus spending big bucks on a node locked solution or moderate bucks on a plug module.

But, I'm happy with the current height of my car so won't be fiddling with that. But, I do plan on getting a USB to CAN adapter and doing some tinkering at some point for other reasons.

Sure would like to get the headlights working as designed, not neutered per U.S. regs.

How much higher than stock can you raise this car with one of these controllers?

hmm, check my post where i found the CAN UDS function that calls the routine that sets the rideheight sensor values

they are represented in hex, one for each of the four corners

find the stock value then subtract the difference from 0xFF (255)

big chance the routine throws back invalid error on too crazy of a value though

I think it's not so much money for Mercedes-Benz owners. Let the professionals do their business well, I will earn money as I can and will do my job well, like the guys from
Amazon Amazon

Thanks guys for good customer service and great product. It works as well as it is written.

professionals? it’s a guy in belraus who worked with a mercedes service tech to reverse and leak the code from official mercedes tools like xentry, then slapped it into a $3 chinese module

if your house had markup of 50x, would you kiss the realtor for such a good deal since he/she is a “professional”?

Reviving this thread. How has the longevity of the ebay / amazon lowering modules been for everyone? I reached out to the ebay dealer but he never got back to me. An ETA of 6-8 weeks for shipping from a seller that isn't answering emails doesn't make much sense to order from.

For the front to sit lower than the rear, wouldn't the front value need to be lower than the rear value? For example, Front: -25mm, Rear: -20mm. i.e., -25 degrees is a lower temp than -20 degrees.

Am I thinking this through correctly or is my mind playing tricks on me?

I wanted to temporarily lower my CLS63 AMG (2012) and thought about trying the $500 module. Heard that the CLS63 AMG only has adjustable bags in the rear, so I would need to swap out springs in the front if I wanted to lower it. Can anyone confirm that's true?

This is correct. I lowered my CLS63 using Evolution lowering links and H&R Springs. If I had to do it all over again I'd go with the KW coils in front. The module is a waste for you.

Got my suspension lowering module from @loweredbenz *IG and FB page
Great device, setup is easy and clear, despite the large instructions takes a few minutes. Received the package a week after shipping, shipped from Belarus. The seller answers quickly and clearly, thanks him for patiently answering all my questions.

It looks perfect, really. It looks very good, but what can you say about the ride stiffness?
Does this suspension height bring discomfort?

Hey,

I got my module plugged in and everything works fine, but now my parking sensors on the front is going off on random locations, twice being at a red light with nothing in front of me. Is there a simple way to re-calibrate the senors to adjust to the new drive height or do I need someone to work that with STAR?

Appreciate the help!

Yes, it will ... unless you buy the proper a-arms. I've been lowered for about 8K miles and no wear problems whatsoever.
