Don't worry, as long as your dealership informs you that you can sign an agreement stating that you are aware of the module not being available and the associated services and can be retrofitted next year when it becomes available, you can totally pick up the vehicle this year.

but to directly answer the two questions you asked. Mercedes Me standard features won't work so that means no you can't remotely lock and unlock the doors with the app. No navigation services, which include the augmented reality functions. For navigation, you may use your smartphone instead for the time being by connecting using smartphone integration (if you optioned that)

It's still in production, matte grey.. was supposed to be built last week it seems, but they just updated the parts allocations.. sorry man, it's all slow going these days..Most E classes will have that VR code and will need a release for the Hermes modules (telematics..)

Do you have the detailed build info for VIN W1K1K5JB7NF173567 (22 E450 Cab) ... my dealer gave me the VIN but not sure if any "substitutions" were made to the build due to chip shortages (Hermes deletion, digital cluster removal or others I've heard about). Thats a slow burn.. my E cabs are delayed also.. hopefully start production in the next few/several weeks

Its also a VR coded vehicle (no MB communications modules and maybe the aug nav camera which is also the dashcam)

Got a update on my 2021 build. Also, attached was a vin# . Is there anyone still on this forum that can give me some real information on this particular build? Still hopeful I’ll see a car sometime soon. vin# W1KZH8KB6MB004843 Not sure if they are dragging their feet to see if I’ll give up and the they could sell the wagon for a huge mark up to someone else. As we have had a agreed price, MSRP, since back in March when it was first ordered with a hefty deposit. I know things are slow, but it’s been a really long time since the order was placed. Can dealers do that? Thanks for any input!!!

Certainly disappointing to hear that it’s not built yet. My sales guy has done his best to keep me informed, but I guess it really is like and act of Congress today, to get a car ordered and delivered! Sure hope it doesn’t sit at VPC for a month, not sure what that’s al about! But, it sounds like I’ll need to cool my jets for a while longer. Thanks for input!! Looks like old Santa going to be doing the delivery!!! UGH !!!

 

It shouldnt sit at the VPC unless it needs the Hermes doc waiver done.. and if it was getting deleted it probably would have been by now..

I think the VIN is a good thing and once it starts production it'll be quick
