So, my dealer just got the car today and I requested images of it. First thing that stood out was the night package we selected is missing. But Mercedes have it on the window sticker of the car that it is an option. How the **** does something like this happen? I asked my dealer to look into it, is it something they would have to fix?
I think dealer will now have to re-order all the missing black trim parts, incl. the black exhaust tips ... it's going to take a long time to get them, esp. the exhaust tips which can take many weeks, I believe.
sorry...unbelievable. another option get a quote from 3rd party for the wrapping work (if you accept that) and let dealer cover it.

Lets say the wrap goes bad, I dont think my dealer would cover it the second time. My sales guy said they would have to order all the night package parts but it will take a while to even get them.
As long as the dealer gets the parts, no big deal. Drive it as is, and have the dealer throw a free service in. When the parts come in, they fix it. Life is too short!

Agree with @Audiodog OP - break it in (which I know you're planning to do) while waiting for the parts.

I agree with previous posters. Have some contrast on your car. I would suggest just to wrap in glossy vinyl the chrome diffuser lip on the back to enhance the exhaust tips. Not nice but no big deal. These are just a few trim pieces the dealer can swap anytime. A nuisance but an easy fix.
Just make sure that there aren't any actual options missing, like HUD, or the heat/warmth, acoustic package, exhaust, etc. Some options can't be fixed...

Really? The number of pieces that that to be unglued, mirrors disassembled, other trim unfastened is just asking for damage. Additionally, since the trim pieces are coming from different times of manufacture, there is a distinct probability of the finishes not matching too.

i had the same doubt. in the end decided to wrap in glossy black vinyl all the chrome parts on the bottom of the car for a consistent look. I simply settled that not having the exhaust tips being the major design element that draws the eyes on the rear was not acceptable to me. so the chrome trim/lip of the diffuser had to go... and with that trim gone, then gone the others at the bottom for a consistent look. then decided to add a little red accent to give it a more sporty/flashy and unique look to the car, so that it isn't just another black E-class.
the car looks really nice in person. it has been very surprising to see the reaction of friends, family and acquaintances. when i showed what i was doing most of them said "that looks horrible. you're going to ruin the car!" or "that looks like a tuning car from the suburbs", but when they saw it live the reaction has been always a "WOW... that looks crazy. super sporty/aggressive but still elegant"
having just the chromes with a matte PPF makes a great impact on the overall look of the car. it is fascinating how a simple mod like this can make such an impact. then you can build it up from there.
and with PPF you will have also some peace of mind regarding scratches and dirt, making it more easy to clean.
they can put in a warranty claim and get it all swapped.. im not 100% sure (99% sure) but I believe its a factory part/install and not port installs.. Ive never seen taht happen before.. although once a E43 showed up w/o blind spot and its a standard feature.

We are talking about some simple trim pieces. Finish will not be an issue; this is not leather or wood but plastic and metal. There will not be finish issues.
I understand that anytime somebody a tech touches a new car there is risk; just like handing the key to the valet.
But as options go, the night package is the easiest one to replace of any options.
The OP can make it worth his while or wait for another car.
I would reject the car with any significant options missing or color issues...

Ok, not my call, but the night pieces are anodized aluminum and some of the pieces need removal of other parts in order to remove and install. I also find it curious that blacking out a car's original highlights somehow makes it distinctive. A black car should have highlights and not look like a blob on wheels, but that's my view.
