I definitely do not want to nit pick this magnificent car, but my past car's leather steering wheels seem to just stick to my hand... Will this get more grip, or is there something I can put on it? I do not want to wear gloves... but if I punch the car on a curve I need to feel like I have enough grip. Thanks for any insights. I definitely like the feel of it!

I don't think so.

appearance wise, the alcantara on mine has totally worn out only after 1 yr of usage ... and I don't have sweating hand either.

It looks pretty ugly.

Mine lost grip over time. I won’t do Alcantara again on a steering wheel.

They usually lose grip over time, sometimes using driving gloves helps prolong the lifetime of it.

I think it’s worse if you track regularly or drive in hot weather. I’ve driven track cars with alcantara steering wheels that felt awful with only a couple thousand miles on the clock. I personally would never order it on a wheel or seating surface for the wear and tear issues. Headliner ages fine as far as I’ve seen.

OK, thanks everyone... Maybe I can wrap it with something like a tennis racket grip if it falls apart or the grip gets worse

Cleaning them once in a while helps A LOT, use any alcantara cleaners & then use a brush and lightly scrub the surfaces until the little hair shafts of the alcantara raises again, and then when u dry them with a micofiber towel make sure u twist when u dry to really get the dirt & grime out. Steering wheel still feels new after almost a year of driving this car.

I find the grip gets worse over time. It's really a bad idea.

I bought my car from inventory, but if I hadn't I would have specced a full leather wheel.

I second this. You need to clean the wheel. Check out this video.

Same here. I use Dr. Beasley's Microsuede cleanerand a suede brush when dry. Still looks good after one year.

I cleaned mine quite often out of necessity because it would lose so much grip. It helped but not enough that makes it remotely close to becoming a better choice than leather.

It wears out over time and becomes smooth and shiny, not really a good look or grip.
Having said that, I still like it and get it whenever it is available, since it feels great when new.
