Yeah. I found a couple of them around and one under the break in period on miles. And from the specs on that thing the car seems to have depreciated over 20k at least so far. Thinking about getting it but doesnt have the acoustic package so kind of hesitant....

Wow @cjmk1982 I just happened upon this thread. I'm the guy who suggested the Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo in the other thread. I didn't realize what had happened. I'll add to the pile that I'm also glad no one got hurt. Sorry about your car though. That's obviously terrible.
BTW, recommendation to all: insure with Chubb. They are generally in the business of writing checks, and fast. They cost more, but are well worth it IMO if anything happens.

Not an insurance agent but did not see this mentioned
I did not see you mention what type of coverage you had. Here in MD I have insurance that covers non-owner driver of the vehicle as well as driving an unowned car. Both of these types of coverage could help.
Do you have coverage for others to drive your car?
Does friend have coverage to drive cars he does not own?
IF you ever let anyone drive your car or drive other persons cars, make sure these coverages are applicable in the appropriate situation. (Imagine your friend dies and then you get sued, terrible and happens daily) ONLY then are you going to not have to worry. GAP insurance is then the way to insure the depreciation is covered.
I hope this info helps if it was unknown.
Good Luck!

Oh I did. But ultimately it's my fault for letting him drive my car. Just didnt realize until this incident that it would be my insurance and not his that has to cover this. Total bs. Gosh darn it. I know now and I'll tell you this, no one is ever ever driving my car ever again. Ever.

That sucks but if its totaled you can always get another one. The insurance will cover your loss wont they??
How would you feel if god forbid your friend died or got badly injured in that accident? You cant replace them

You are always covered no matter who drives your car - That's why No One ever drives my car - It could be a lot worse he could have been in bad shape or worse and/or another car that he could have hit . Imagine he lawsuits that could have happened .
Everyone make note if you don't have an umbrella Liability policy call your agent now .

Update:
The appraiser from my insurance estimates the damage at around $74000. He states that the car is totaled. I figured. My car value according to him was $98000 not including taxes and such. So when said and done, after my $1000 deductible, I'm thinking I'll get around $105000 in value. Dam.

Just curious, how much did you purchased it for?

Yeah that's why they are going to total it. I wouldn't want them to try to bring her back to life. Probably going to end up like the pet cemetary...lol. I had bought her used in mint condition with low miles. MSRP if I remember correctly was $134500 but since she was used, she was listed at $109,000 and I eventually got her for $97000 after negotiating. Added expel wrap for $1800 + $7000 taxes + $3500 ish in extended warranty and I paid total I think a little over $110,000.

Thanks. I dont know if he'll step up to the plate or not but at the end of the day, I let him drive my car so I guess it's ultimately my fault. If he does offer something then that will say alot about his character and I could probably brush this off and move forward, but for now, I get so angry everytime I think about him or my car. I will make him live in guilt for the rest of his life for what he's done to me.

You are right. At first I thanked God that he wasnt injured and that no one else was involved or hurt. Then after, I was filled with anger, but then calmed myself down thinking of how much worse it could've been. Even my insurance appraiser was saying how he was amazed that nothing had happened to him. He said if he had been driving majority of the other car brands out there then he would've been seriously hurt or maybe even dead. IMO, the engineering of Mercedes saved his life.
