I have it - it's great, can't see it at all when it's not installed.. highly recommend.

Have to admit looking at the install pics above... my initial thought ... oh that's a lotta work..... but I was intrigued since my gle63s coupe doesn't have a hitch and eventually im gonna have to install one...looked it up and there is one for me... yeah

not cheap... boohhh... looked at the install instructions and parts included... ok i understand the cost.......

It's quite involved but the instructions are excellent... lotta tools involved and they tell you up front what ya gonna need... nice touch...

May to look into this...

Thanks for posting Wrightatl This is exactly the kind of posts the forums are made for.

I did not tackle this one myself, i decided to have them put it on, since they are here in Atlanta. But i did look over their documentation and it is very detailed.

Loved the hidden hitch I had on my 2015 X5. Solid as a rock...

How many any hours of labor or $$$ for the install?

from what i read it has no negative effect....

from their site for 2019 E63s wagon

Stealth’s fully welded trailer hitch for the Mercedes E-class Wagon AMG is strong and durable with a Lifetime Guarantee. The combination of a stainless steel latch block and powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection allowing you to enjoy your eco-adventures and not worry about the function of your hitch.

The vehicle capacities with the Mercedes trailer hitches are:
  • 5300 pounds - gross trailer weight (GTW)
  • 350 pounds - tongue weight (TW)
Stealth Hitches are designed to exceed vehicle capacities by a minimum of 50%. We list the vehicle capacities, not hitch capacities, to give our customers more meaningful data. Please confirm capacities with the vehicle owner’s manual.

This is AMAZING! Can you imagine the look you'd get towing a 23 LSV Malibu with and e63 wagon! Priceless. One more reason to NOT buy and SUV.

Did anyone else proceed with a Stealth Hitch install on an E63 wagon? Was hoping a self installer would chime in with how straight forward it was .

I also have a question, did this mess with the 'kick to open' feature for the tailgate?

agree! Not sure I want someone else cutting the rear bumper. However, I got a quote from rack attack for about $600 to do the install here in LA.

FWIW - I installed a stealth hitch on my Tesla Model 3 and it was pretty straight forward. The disassembly of the rear end was very similar and I had to trim the bumper too. It's scary but if you trace a good outline and use a dremel, it is cake.

Pretty slick... but you gotta get the reflectors off that bike! I use flashing LED. I've always been a wagon guy for the sake of bikes, but still use the tried and true roof rack... A friend sent me this pic saying: "you should be friends with this guy." Yup.

did you have to cut out a part of rear diffuser to make it work?
also, do you know whether this would work on an e63s sedan?

I don’t have the hitch, yet, but I looked into it and yes you must cut the diffuser. I’m ready with my little m12 die grinder, but haven’t mustered up the courage yet to do the deed.

Yes the diffuser is cut to give access to the hitch receptacle. It is not visible unless you look up underneath the car.

Got mine installed this weekend. I would ignore the 2 hr time estimate... took me about 4 hours or so. Had some trouble getting the bumper to line back up after but that was the only real headache. Eventually got it sorted.

It's really not too bad, just got to take your time and have a helper to pull the bumper off. Hardest part is lining the bumper tabs back when you put it on IMO.
